Cathedral Tots, the playgroup for siblings and children whose parents have accepted a nursery place at the school, is now in its third year. The playgroup is a chance for children to socialise, make new friends, do craft activities, dress up and play in a safe, warm environment. Numbers have fluctuated but we’re delighted that this year, twelve families are making regular use of the playgroup. Parent feedback has been excellent. The children really do seem very happy to have their group and are getting to know the routine. They even help to tidy up! It’s been a lovely space for parents to get know each other and find out more about the school from members of staff including Ms Jinks,our SENCO, Mrs Leighton, Assistant Head and Debbie from Nursery, who pop in from time to time.
We are really pleased to see how well children who have attended the playgroup have settled into nursery in the last couple of years. It’s lovely to see the classes of 2018 and 2019 developing friendships already. It’s also heart-warming to see the Year 6 children engage with the little children when they come along at the end of the session to help with the clearing up. We’d like to thank our regular helpers!
This week we had our end of term Christmas celebration. The children made crowns and Christmas trees and enjoyed some little Christmas treats, finishing off by singing Happy Birthday to one of the children. We hope you enjoy the photographs.
