Ice Investigation…

Yesterday we had a great science lesson! As we have been looking at the Arctic and Arctic animals in science, we did an experiment on how long it would take 1 cube of ice to melt. In pairs, we made a prediction and then recorded how long it took our cube of ice to melt  at room temperature using a stopwatch. We also put a cube of ice in water, on the radiator and outside to observe the differences in melting time. The cube of ice outside hadn’t melted even when we came back to school the next day due to the cold temperatures!

Arts week in class 1

Class 1 were very busy during arts week. We did an observational drawing of The Shard from the playground using sketch pencils. We then used lots of different colored pieces of card and created a collage of our favourite London landmark- lots of us did the London Underground sign! Then, using tissue paper we create a background for our work. Here are some pictures from arts week. Enjoy!

Class 1 visit the Horniman Museum

Class 1 had a great day out yesterday at the Horniman Museum. We participated in an Arctic Adventure workshop where we got to explore items associated with Arctic life! We were then lucky enough to visit various parts of the museum including the National History gallery and the Music gallery. Take a look at some of the pictures from our trip!
