International Week in Class 1

We have had a fun week learning all about France in Class 1. We learnt how to say the days of the week, count to ten and even learnt some colours all in French! During English we also practiced our letter writing skills and wrote a letter to a friend in France. Take a look at some of our learning this week.

Class 1 also made French crepes on Thursday, what an exciting afternoon we had! Everyone had a turn of mixing the crepe mixture together and children even used a whisk to get the mixture to the right consistency! They then watched Margaret and Miss St Lewis cook and flip the crepes then children got to add their own fillings to their own individual crepe. They were delicious! Take a look at our photos.

Maths in Year 1

Last week we looked at time in maths. Children worked so well using their individual clocks to make o’clock and half past times and enjoyed solving time word problems! Take a look at some of our work.

Try some of these questions at home:

What is 1 hour later than half past 6?

It takes me 2 hours to get to school. I leave at 1 o’clock, what time will I arrive at school?

What is 2 hours earlier than 7 o’clock?
