Autumn 2 – Week 1

Stars of the Week: George and Nyra

Class 1 worked hard during our first science lesson on seasonal changes, especially when we created our own weather forecasts. George and Nyra worked independently to think of their own sentences to describe the weather.

This week in Class 1

This week in Class 1, we learnt about different types of weather, from sunny skies to rainy days and even explored the mysteries of hail and snow. The class discovered that it rains when clouds become heavy with drops of water, which then fall to the ground as raindrops. We also talked about hail and learned that these icy pellets form in stormy clouds when raindrops get caught in cold, windy layers before falling.

Then we watched a special video of King Charles presenting a weather forecast. This inspired us to become weather presenters ourselves. Each student had a chance to create and record their own weather forecast, using what they had learned about weather.

Everyone did an amazing job, and we had lots of laughs watching our forecasts back. Who knows, maybe we have some future meteorologists in Class 1!

(Edited video to follow!)

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Kandiah
