Class 1 had an excellent time celebrating sports week this week! Children had their first sports day in the Key Stage Two playground and has a wonderful time. Everyone tried their best with each sport and showed very good sportsmanship. Well done on all your sporting events this week Class 1!
Class 1 have been working hard on their handwriting this week. Children have really been thinking about their letter size, forming all their letters correctly and making sure if they need to cross out, they only do it once! Children have been making sure all their letters are sat on the line and the presentation of their work is neat in preparation for Year 2!!
Well done to all of Year 1 for completing the phonics test this week. All children tried their best when reading the words and remembered to segment and blend! Margaret and I are very proud of you all!

Class 1 have had a great start back at school this week! We went on a lovely trip yesterday to the Horniman Museum. Children learnt all about the history of different toys and got to handle a range of toys from different countries. These included puppets, wooden dolls and toys made from metal! We had a great day!
Class 1 have loved growing their cress and sunflowers this half term! Children regularly checked their plants each morning and made sure they had enough water! Well done on some excellent growing Class 1, you all did a fantastic job!
Class 1 had a very exciting afternoon yesterday, we went on a flower hunt to Redcross Gardens! Children spotted many different types of flowers and plants, such as daffodils, roses, sunflowers and some peppermint herbs! We are learning all about plants and flowers in Science this half term and the cress and sunflowers we planted are doing very well!
