DT week 2014

Class 2 worked extremely hard during DT week to make puppets. This project helped us to develop lots of skills including sewing skills. We based the puppets on the characters in our new class book for this half term The Twits by Roald Dahl. We evaluated our puppets when we had finished:

What went well?

Amaan: The decorating went well because I was thinking carefully about it.

Isaac: It went well because I worked hard on my puppet.

Orlando: The sewing went well for me because it is very neat.

James: When I put the hat on it didn’t fall off.

Heidi: The decorating went well because the eyes were in line with each other.

Blubelle: I am proud of myself because I chose the right clothes.

Freddie: It went well because I made it scruffy just like Mr Twit.

Zakaria: I think I chose the right materials.

What would you change?

Tito: I would make the sewing neater. I need to practise.

Mollie: I would make the nose stay on.

Albert: I would change the size of the eyes because they were too small.

Glennis: I would change the googly eyes into buttons.

When you make a puppet you have to be careful to draw the dots 2cm away from each other or it won’t work properly.

I am proud with my puppet although it would have been better if I had taken the clothes off ,they look very messy but the front looked quite good!
