How many nocturnal animals can you fit in one classroom?

Class 2 were full of animal magic today as Rob from Reptile Life brought his group of nocturnal animals to see us. We learned so many interesting facts about how these animals are adapted for being awake at night. What do you know about nocturnal animals?

Also, we were so sensible that we were the first class ever to see Rob’s newest friend, a meerkat who is not nocturnal but has to travel with him because he’s so tiny!

Sophie doesn’t stink and she didn’t stink when she was a baby. She smells like a clean dog. She is soft, furry and cute.

Although tenrecs look like hedgehogs they’re more closely related to a giraffe!

The meerkat is very small so it can’t run fast. She is so cute. My favourite animal was Dorothy the crocodile because it’s so much to look after and it might take you all day until night time.

Did you know that crocodiles are the only animal with a tongue that cannot lick its lips? It is because its tongue goes inwards so it doesn’t swallow water whilst it is fishing underwater.
