Summer 1 – Week 2

Stars of the Week: Kourtney and Nyheika

This week, Year 2 have been measuring using milliliters. We had to read the scale of what the container was going up in and measure carefully by pouring in the water. Thankfully we managed to stay (mostly) dry! Excellent measuring Year 2!

Spring 2- Week 6

Stars of the Week: Ted and Freddie

Class 2 have had a special week with several exciting events. On Tuesday they were lucky enough to have a visit from the author Ross Montgomery as well as a workshop at the Cathedral to learn about how the Cathedral changes at Easter time. Both of these occasions were inspirational and engaging and it was wonderful to see the learning that was taking place, as well as the children displaying their prior knowledge. They had interesting questions to ask Ross Montgomery, such as “Why did you want to be an author?” and “What inspired you to write ten delicious teachers?” At the Cathedral the children learnt about why certain images and items were covered in purple cloth, and about the changes of colour in vestments throughout the church year. We also got to see the beautiful pascal candle which will be lit on Easter Sunday, and enjoyed an Easter craft activity too.

Please enjoy some of the photos from our visit and trip this week.

Well done Class 2 for being such enthusiastic learners. Have a wonderful Easter break!

Spring 2- Week 5

Stars of the Week: Leo and Mila

We have had so much fun during Bikeability this week, learning lots of new skills and tips on how to stay safe on our bikes. Please enjoy some photos below.

Last week we designed positive pebbles. We each chose one of the fruits of friendship and designed our pebbles around that theme with a message of what Jesus and the fruits of friendship mean to us at Easter. We hope that they will bring a smile to whoever finds them.

We have enjoyed a varied week in Class 2. We spent some time practicing making food chains in a great game on the laptops during our Science lesson. Ask us to name an example of a producer and a consumer!

In PE we have been working on our racket skills and had to balance a tennis ball on a racket while moving around. It was tricky but we are definitely improving.

We also had a visit from the London Fire Brigade who taught us many important lessons about how to stay safe in a fire. We are going to remind our grown ups to check their smoke alarms once a month and ask them about creating a fire plan for our homes.
