Our visit to the Art House

Last week we went over to the Art House to look at an Art Exhibiton that was being put on by Sixth Form students from a local Secondary School.

We were invited to comment on all the art work! It was great fun and we were very impressed with what we saw.

Science in Class 3

Our topic this half term is Light and Shadows.

Here we are in the playground drawing shadows round our partners.. We then went outside in the afternoon to record how our shadows had changed.

We then went into class and discussed WHY our shadows change!

Our Class Assembly

Today, we had our Class Assembly, which we celebrated with the whole school and many of our parents. Our Assembly had many themes, focusing on the Queen’s Jubilee, the role of the Queen as the spiritual leader of the Church as well as the leader of the Commonwealth. This led onto our Olympic work as well as our work on belonging to a community.

As part of our Assembly, Aisa read her poem about the Jubilee and we wrote prayers of thanks and prayers for our Queen, the up and coming Olympics as well as the importance of being part of a community.

A particular mention must be given to Nancy, who stepped in with such professionalism at the last minute to read extra lines- well done Nancy!

Our favourite part of our Assembly was singing our song. We chose to perform the current hit single ‘Sing’ which was composed by Gary Barlow and Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, and performed by singers all over the Commonwealth. We only started learning it last week and we were very proud of our efforts. We are in the process of uploading a video recording of our performance and so watch this space to see us sing ‘Sing’!

Until then, you can watch the official video of Sing, and think about how important our global community is here…

WELL DONE CLASS 3!!
