Colour!

Year three have been exploring colour. The children have been mixing primary colours with white to learn about tones. They have also been annotating their findings in their wonderful sketch books.

What did you learn about different tones and colours during this lesson?

During art, it was exciting to see awesome new art books that we didn’t have in year 2, year 1 and reception.I enjoyed doing art to see the different types of pink in my book. It was fun!

I learnt that you could make lots of different colours with only two colours. It was really exciting!

If you mix a lot of dark with colours, it makes a darkish colour!

I had lots of fun learning about colours and tones. I learnt that by mixing red and white together depending on the amount you use, you can actually make different tones. We also experimented with other colours and I was able to do some beautiful annotations in my sketch book. I love doing art and I really enjoyed experimenting with colours.
