Autumn 2 Week 1 – Science

Stars of the Week: Arabella and Rory.

We have had a very busy first week back after half term in Class 3!

In Science, we have started our new topic ‘Light’ and we learnt the definitions of translucent, transparent and opaque. We had lots of fun going around our classroom to find objects and then deciding what category each object fitted into.

We have also been busy practising for our Collective Worship.

The song we will sing is called ‘Bones’ by Jennifer Fixman/Miss Jenny and friends. You can find this song on Spotify or Apple Music. The lyrics are below. I hope you have lots of fun learning the lyrics at home!

From your head, to your arms, to your ribs, to your knees,
Bones are the skeleton that you can’t see.
From your hands all the way down to your toes,
Bones get big as your body grows.

Bones help your body to sit up straight.
Makes you wonder if calcium’s in what you ate.
Have some milk, yogurt, or cheese—
Anything from the milk group please.

Bones help your body to stand up tall.
Without them your body would just fall.
Exercise is great.
It helps bones grow, so don’t wait.

In your neck, in your hips, in your ankles too,
Bones are there supporting you,
Make your bones feel good.
Exercise and eat right like you should.

From your head, to your arms, to your ribs, to your knees,
Bones are the skeleton that you can’t see.
From your hands all the way down to your toes,
Bones get big as your body grows.
