Autumn Collective Worship song lyrics

Please see below the lyrics for our Collective Worship song on Tuesday 7th November.

Vegetables and fruit are good for you
And they make you healthy too.
We like to eat them, they taste yummy,
Yummy, yummy, yummy, in my tummy!

Cucumber, carrots, cauliflower, peas,
Broccoli and green beans, mmm, yes please!
Apples, peaches, pears and plums,
Strawberries, bananas, mmm, yum, yum!

Vegetables and fruit make healthy snacks,
So put those crisps and chocolates back!
Make sure you eat them, five a day,
So you keep the doctor away.

Cucumber, carrots, cauliflower, peas,
Broccoli and green beans, mmm, yes please!
Apples, peaches, pears and plums,
Strawberries, bananas, mmm, yum, yum!

Cucumber,
Carrots,
Cauliflower,
Peas,
Broccoli,
Green beans,
Mmm, YES PLEASE!

Vegetables and fruit are good for you
And they make you healthy too.
We like to eat them, they taste yummy,
Yummy, yummy, yummy, in my tummy!

Cucumber, carrots, cauliflower, peas,
Broccoli and green beans, mmm, yes please!
Apples, peaches, pears and plums,
Strawberries, bananas, mmm, yum, yum! (Repeat)

Autumn 1 Week 7 – English

Stars of the Week: Nathan A and Kourtney

This half term in English, we have been reading Oliver and the Seawigs by Philip Reeve. The past week we have written our own version of this story but from another character’s point of view. We have broken the story down into five parts, the beginning, the build up, the problem, the resolution and the end. We have focused on using speech, including how to punctuate speech correctly and using powerful verbs to make the actions more dramatic. Their writing has been so imaginative and interesting to read.

Our Collective Worship Assembly is on Tuesday 7th November, it would be great to see many of you there. Please help your children to learn their lines and the song over the half term holiday.

I can’t believe that the first half term is already over, I hope you all have a lovely and restful break!

Autumn 1 Week 6 – PE

Stars of the Week: Joseph and Leo.

This week in PE we learnt about rhythmic gymnastics. We used a hula hoop and rolled it forwards and caught it. We then practiced spinning it around our waists and then skipping with it. In partners, we rolled the hoops between ourselves and performed moves whilst the hoop was spinning between us.

Autumn 1 Week 5 – Maths

Stars of the Week: Orla and Harry

This week in Class 3 we have continued our learning of place value in maths. We have looked at how to partition 3 digit numbers into the hundreds, tens and ones, for example 362 = 300+60+2. We have also looked at how you can partition numbers in multiple ways, for example 872 can be partitioned into 700+170+2, or 700+100+72, or 500+200+72.

Autumn 1 Week 4 – Computing

Stars of the Week: Astrid and Julian

This week in computing, we compared digital paint to non-digital paint. First, we used paint on computers to create a piece of artwork. We then used paper, paint and paintbrushes to recreate the painting that we had made on the paint function on the computer. We compared the two versions of using paint and discussed the pros and cons to both methods.

Autumn 1 Week 3 – English

Stars of the Week: Menata and Ted

This week in English, we have continued to read our class text ‘Oliver and the Seawigs’. We looked at the use of sarcasm by the Sarcastic Seaweed to then use sarcasm in playscripts. We played the characters of Oliver, Iris and the Seaweed, with the Seaweed being sarcastic to Oliver and Iris. We wrote our own playscripts independently and then we were put into groups of three, where we edited our playscripts and wrote one as a group. Please see our videos of our acting below!

Autumn 1 Week 2 – Art

Stars of the Week: Lenni and Ben

This week in Art, we have started our topic of Vincent van Gogh. First, we discussed what we already know about this artist, then we learnt about his life and his paintings. We looked at some examples of his work, including his self-portraits, his paintings of peasants, the sunflowers and Starry Night. We discussed his use of lines in his art. We then created a bank of textures using a variety of lines in our own work.

Autumn 1 Week 1 – Start of term
