Class 4 are inspired by Flotsam

A bright, science-minded boy goes to the beach equipped to collect and examine flotsam—anything floating that has been washed ashore. Bottles, lost toys, small objects of every description are among his usual finds. But there’s no way he could have prepared for one particular discovery: a barnacle-encrusted underwater camera, with its own secrets to share . . . and to keep.

Class 4 have been exploring Flotsam by David Weisner. After creating our own pictures taken on the camera, we threw the camera back into the water and described the journey of the camera. We included ambitious adjectives, adverbs and exciting punctuation to support our journey descriptions.

We hope you enjoy our Flotsam displays.

I loved learning about this book. It is an amazing book. Although it has no words in it, I could imagine words by using the pictures.

I really enjoyed ‘reading’ flotsam because it had no words and the story was based through the pictures it was really enjoyable and it was fun to learn about flotsam. Flotsam is things washed up by the shore
