Independent Learning – Science Projects

Once again, Class 5 have excelled with their project work. After the success of the One Day In History projects in the Spring Term, the pupils in Class 5 created some wonderful work for the World Of Science task.

All the children developed their researching skills by using a variety of sources to find out information about a famous scientist or invention. They then developed their presenting skills by choosing a medium to show their findings to different classmates – we saw working models, videos, posters, bespoke websites and a youtube video of an experiment in action!

Have a look at the work on show and leave a comment in the comments section below to describe your thoughts on the science projects.

    I loved researching and writing my project!

    Everyone put a lot of effort into their projects. Here were some of my favourite project ideas:
    Lightening;
    Alexander Fleming;
    Charles Darwin; and
    The human life cycle.

    I really like Eleanor’s project because she put all her effort in it and she taught me a lot of things which were based on her project.

    I thought that the projects were really inspiring, and that some people had made a great effort in making them. For my next project I am going to include some of the ideas from the projects I saw.

    I think the projects were really good, not only mine but the others. One of my two favourites were Ashleigh’s and Kiran’s, not because of the presentation but also because of the care and attention they had put into their work.

    There are others that I liked as well, like Marko’s, because he used a lot of creativity in his work – he even made his own television!

    I really enjoyed the Science Projects and my project was on the invention of colour T.V, and I really liked the variety of projects because not one person’s project was the same as another person’s. I loved the models and posters – we should have more projects like this again because there was so much brilliant artwork and really interesting work. A fact that I learnt was that Alexander Fleming invented medicine, and another fact was that the telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell.

    Everyone really tried their best and we should all be proud. Well Done Class 5.

    I really enjoyed creating our science projects! Everybody else’s projects looked amazing. Next time I would like a bit more time, but otherwise it was perfect. It would be fun if some of the teachers did projects too! It also might be fun if we we’re allowed to pick our own subjects, like we wouldn’t have to base it just on science or just on history.

    The projects shown here are a truly magnificent range of well presented and created displays. I really liked Mimi’s because of the model she made but I also loved Eleanor’s. The way she had created the book was amazing! Aisa’s was cool too because she’d made the cover herself. Also, Oisin’s project was very scientific as he had used PH strips! All the projects I saw were amazing! I also enjoyed showing mine and answering questions about my work. I used a video camera to film a video and inserted it into a fact filled presentation! Overall the amount of effort put in was stupendous!

    Ashleigh’s project really inspired me because it was a really good presentation. It contained lots of notes as well as self-made diagrams and maybe next time when we do a science project I know who to go to for my project! Teddy

    I thought that the projects that we all made were amazing. It looks like everyone took all of the six weeks to make theirs. I thought that everyone made an effort presenting and teaching everyone else – so it showed that they knew lots about their scientific projects.

    My favourite was Faber’s and Kiran’s because they both made amazing videos and included lots of facts on their projects, and I think they spent a lot of time on the way that they presented it.

    I loved Nicole’s project because of the way she has taken a lot of time working on it. Also, I loved the way she made little planets – I think that was really cool.

    I think that everyone tried their best with their projects. It was their best efforts. I thought that Ashleigh’s project was really good because I thought it had lots of interesting facts. I learnt a lot from her project and I liked the way it was made and I really liked the images too.

    I think that everyone deserved a prize because everyone tried their best. Everyone made a great effort, so they should be proud of themselves. I liked Ashleigh’s project because she laid it out in a interesting way. Well done everyone.

    I really enjoyed presenting me science project to the class. I also enjoyed researching facts and sharing them with my family. That was the best part of doing my science project – sharing the facts I found, especially with my family. The scientists who discovered Neptune were Johann Galle and Urbain Le Verrier.

    I liked Ashleigh’s project because it has a lot of information and it looks like she spent a lot of time on it. I also liked the different diagrams and pictures that she used. I also like Tianna’s because she used a lot of diagrams.

    I thought that every one has taken their time with their science projects and we have all enjoyed looking at each other’s work.
    I really enjoyed doing my own project and I found out lots of facts on who invented the telephone and I now know who invented the telephone and some more facts about him and his life and the science behind it (the person who invented the telephone was Alexander Graham Bell).
    Everyone’s projects were amazing, thoughtful and interesting.

    I was really impressed by the science projects, all of them really exceeded what I thought they would be like, especially Eleanor’s which was very interactive and even had a model with lights! Overall, they were really good.

    The science project was a great experience, when we got to show are science projects I learnt a lot of facts from other students. I did my project on invisible ink as I have a secret agency kit which had:
    . Two lights you can read to see the invisible ink;
    . A button that opens it and locks your kit;
    . An button to recorded your voice to put an lock on you work;
    . An note pad to write down everything; and
    . Invisible ink pen to write you information.

    I really enjoyed researching, making, presenting and seeing other people’s projects. I was really excited by our topic – science. I think a lot of different projects were amazing, as well I think I learnt a lot: through the process of research; by putting together the project with all my newly learnt facts; by presenting it to my friends and from learning new things off the other students – it was all very enjoyable.

    Overall I think science was a great choice of project and I can’t wait for the next opportunity to do independent learning.

    In this project work, we all worked really hard to create incredible projects, that reflected who a scientist was, and/or what a scientist invented or discovered, and/or factual information on a science topic. We all worked really hard to create amazing projects and I really enjoyed taking a look at everyone’s work. The projects are all very memorable, and I am sure that everyone is very proud of their work that they completed over a daily/ weekly basis. I really hope you enjoy looking through the gallery of some of the projects from class 5!

    Today our class were sharing our wonderful science projects. All the projects I have looked at look really good. After the day finished, I thought that Tianna’s work was the best work I’ve seen so far because she did it on invisible ink and she used really interesting facts.
