Autumn 2 – Week 5

Year 5 stars of the week: Emmanuel and Prushott

Last week, Mrs Rees came into our class to introduce us to the new books that had arrived in school. We took this opportunity to discuss our favourite reads and to recommend them to other people.

We then created our own book bingo cards full of fantastic and exciting stories. If you would like to know what they are, ask any enthusiastic reader from Year 5.

    Snowglobe

I’m enjoying this book because it’s very mystical. It’s also very difficult to predict what is going to happen. I recommend this book to people who are interested in adventure or mystical books. I hope you enjoy this book

For my book bingo, I chose the book Wonder for one of my books because most people in the class and school recommend this book as it has a very important moral. Along with that, I picked Secrets of a Sun King as one of my friends recommended it to me and the person said that it was a very nice book. I also chose The Astounding Broccoli Boy because another classmate recommended it to me and that person really enjoyed it.

The book I have read from the book bingo is there’s a yeti in the playground. It was a very fun book to read and a very creative book to have chosen. I would recommend this book to people because it is very exciting and you would love it. It took me two days to finish it because I couldn’t stop reading it and once you want to stop you just can’t stop reading it.

I am currently reading ‘The Northern Lights’ because I enjoy the grippingly good description. It is very adventurous and engaging. For my book bingo I chose ‘Secrets of the Sun King’, ‘Cogheart’, ‘Snowglobe’, ‘Arsenic for Tea’… I chose these books because they are recommended by many people. Also, I have read the blurb and they seem full of mystery, woe and regret which is exactly what I look for in a book. I am hoping to try an Alex Rider to see how I like it. I can’t wait to read my book bingo books!
Thank you Mrs Reece, Janet and Miss Henderson for letting us create our book bingos!

i am or was reading the attack of the demon dinner lady and i really lliked the story of it because the pages went really long so it was an easy read and the main reason i like it is because in the story there were a group of year 6 children that thinks that the demon dinner ladies are poisining the food and are putting seagull eyes in the water jug

i recommend this book for people that want an easy read because there are not a lot of words on 1 page

I picked Sky Song because it seemed like a really interesting book to read and the blurb sounded quite mysterious. I’m near the middle and it’s really engaging! The characters are all really different; the Sky Gods, the Ice Queen, Tomkin {[the leader of a tribe}, his brother Flint and the girl with the cursed voice, Eska.

The books that I have chosen for book bingo is The Girl of Ink and Stars, Goth Girl and the ghost of a mouse, Snowglobe and a couple more but I don’t remember their names. I chose these books because they attracted my eyesight and was interesting to read after I read the blurb. These books are not only fantasy but they’re mysteries and adventure .This term I’m going to be reading some great books.
