In Spanish, the class consolidated their sports knowledge in a speaking and listening activity.

Summer 2 – Week 3

Stars of the week: ALL OF CLASS 5

Well done Class 5 on a spectacular collective worship this week. It was so wonderful seeing all the incredible learning you have done.

In English, we have enjoyed reading ‘The Trojan War’. We explored the features of newspaper reports and will be writing a report about the duel from chapter 4  next week.

Next week we will be having a sports day practice. We look forward to seeing you at the real event on Friday 9th July!

Summer 2 – Week 2

Stars of the week: Vivienne and Azaria

Class 5 have been rehearsing for our collective worship with great professionalism; we cannot wait for you to watch it next week!

In English this week, we have been enjoying reading The Trojan War and have written our own versions of Odysseus and the Cyclopes. Well done class 5, for including so much extra detail about the characters and setting. The myths make for a gripping and gruesome read!

In PE, we have been practising the skills of batting, bowling, catching and throwing in rounders. We have also been thinking about strategies to make our team work more efficient. Well done for the incredible effort, Class 5!

Next week is assessment week; it will be a brilliant chance for the class to show how much they have learnt this year!

Summer 2 – Week 1

Stars of the week: Kyann & Leonna

Well done Class 5 on a brilliant first week back after half-term.

This half-term we are exploring mapping in geography. To kick things off, we used a computing lesson to get familiar with the ‘map’ feature on Padlet. The class inputted places that were important to them/ they knew well. They included information about the place, photographs and links; they could then explore each others locations.

Class 5 now have their scripts for their collective worship. It celebrates aspects of our learning from this year; we cannot wait to share it with you!

Summer 1 – Week 6

Stars of the week: Aden & Sebastian

We have really enjoyed Poetry Week this week. Class 5 have been exploring the poems by Neal Zetter; analysing them, performing them and using them as inspiration for their own poems.

We have been engrossed by our WW2 learning this half-term. This week went on a local walk to explore the sites where bombs had been dropped during The Blitz. Class 5 demonstrated their observation and questioning skills when looking for evidence. Well done Class 5!

We were lucky enough to visit the ducklings too – they were just so sweet!
