Autumn 2 – Week 6

Stars of the Week: Osarenoma & Javon

This week, we have been busy learning all about El Salvador. We discussed things which we import from El Salvador and also analysed some case studies of different children who live here. We looked at a typical day for them and compared it to our days. We also learnt about what they do to earn a living and how we could help if things go wrong. This included solutions like building a well, so they have easy access to water.

Autumn 2 – Week 4

Stars of the Week: Chiugo & Ethan

This week, we went on a trip to the BBC Earth Experience to link with our class text. We learnt all about different animals from all different continents of the world. We also got to participate in various activities including one about life in the water and another all about bugs!

Autumn 2 – Week 2

Stars of the Week: Thea & Sonny

This week, we have been working hard on our basketball skills. We have been practicing different passes, including chest pass and bounce pass. Although we have to bring our session to a close early (due to the rain), we were treated with a lovely rainbow over The Shard!

Autumn 1 – Week 7

Stars of the Week: Caitlyn & Cameron J

This week, we have been busy learning all about a mandir as part of our RE topic on Hinduism. We learnt about what it looks like inside as well as the traditions and rituals they follow here. We compared some of these to Christianity to identify similarities and differences between the two religions.

Autumn 1 – Week 6

Stars of the Week: Gabrielle & Aarav

This week, we have been busy creating our own planets. We used oil pastels to create the designs, and then wrote fact files about them, thinking about the atmosphere, distance from the sun and the length of their year/day.

Autumn 1 – Week 5

Stars of the Week: Marcia & Mason

This week, we have been doing some Maya-inspired artwork in the style of Georgia O’Keefe. We used oil pastels to create our own artwork based on Chichen Itza. We used bright colours to recreate the same style as Georgia O’Keefe.
