Science Workshop – the best lesson ever?

On Tuesday 8th October, Class 5 were lucky enough to receive a visit from Sarah who works for Shell plc. Sarah teaches interactive science investigations and she asked our class to test the Vitamin C levels in different citrus fruit. The class had lots of fun conducting the investigation and they especially enjoyed using all the specialist scientific equipment (hands up who liked wearing the goggles!!).

Musa even said ‘this is the best lesson ever’ and lots of other people agreed with him.

Musa’s quote got me thinking, ‘what is the best lesson in Year 5?’. Are you a lover literacy, do you go mad for maths, or is it art that melts your heart? Let me know your opinion in the comments section below (remember I want to see you use your Yellow Hats to justify your opinion). Enjoy.

Lola absolutely loved this lesson. Engaging in a practical experiment really captured her imagination, as I am sure it did the whole class.

Fingers crossed Class 5 get the opportunity to do more interesting experiments

This lesson was amazing! We have got to do something like this again. It doesn’t matter what it’s about, it’s just cool to be using all the scientific instruments and getting to wear the clothes.
