Yesterday, Class 6 exhibited the products which they made during DT week, as well as our planning and evaluation documents. The whole school came to see them, in addition to all of the teachers and many of the school governors! After school, the exhibition was also open to parents.
We were partnered with Year 2, and everyone enjoyed looking together at what the classes had made – congratulating them for their successes and suggesting what they could have improved.
What did you discuss with your partner?
How did the expo. help develop your DT skills?
What constructive feedback did you receive?
Well done Year 6 in the DT exhibition and escorting Year 2 as well. What was your favourite part and did you have any wishes for any class’ work? What was your partner’s favourite part and did they have a favourite design and why?
Going to the exhibition was a great chance to catch up on what the other classes worked on during the week; in year 6 we make cushions for our families, on our cushions we put the first letters of their name. We had to careful when using the needles and sewing on our matrirals on; we put a lot of effort in and really enjoyed it!
You did well.
Were you having fun? It looked like you were.
Hmmmm, it seems my suspicions were correct! I hope you had fun making your cushions – I still have mine!
I had an amazing time making these creative personalized cushions! This project needed your creativity and your artistic skills (also sewing skills). I learnt new things while doing this DT project; I learnt how sew more evenly and make it look like you are putting all your best effort into it. My favourite part was doing the prints on the back because mine turned out very well. When I did the sewing, I thought I couldn’t do it because it was very hard for me but then, as it got on, I got used to it. I personally enjoyed making these fabulous cushions; I had a blast! I would love to make these again.
