Father Michael

100_1237

As our class governor, Father Michael came straight from his Collective Worship (on Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday and the meanings behind the Cathedral’s new sculpture) to Year 6 today to see a Literacy lesson.

How does Father Michael help Class 6?

How does Father Michael help Cathedral School?

He was interested to see all of the preparation work that we have done for our fantasy stories. This includes:

  • Character sketches
  • Word banks
  • Checklists
  • Whiteboard work
  • Reading The Hobbit
  • Dictionary work
  • Grammar and punctuation work

What were you most proud to share with Father Michael?

How are you going to make your story successful?

Which things from the list above have you found it the most helpful to do?

    Heavenly Father,
Lord, in your name we pray that you will help us to know the difference between right and wrong. Help encourage us to be independent, also help us to reach our full potential. Thank you for our wonderful staff (who lead us on the right path) and help us to excel in what we do. As book week is coming, we need to be grateful for the books that we have. Thank you Cathedral School for providing us with the technology we have like iPads, computers, whiteboards and more. We pray that you will give us the power to help people who do not have the right amount of education to have it.
    Amen

    Almighty Lord,
As book week is growing nearer, we give thanks for all the books we have and we also pray that people in other countries excel to do well, just as well as us. We thank you for all the wonderful teachers we have that guide us along the right path to help us reach our full potential. Lord I thank you for the education to be able to read all of these fantastic books written by these amazing authors. I also ask for confidence, courage and strength to excel and move on, learning more in school and life.
My teachers always help me with my reading, they also help me read and understand tricky words that I do not know. We also learn Spanish, we know how to write most words, pronounce most words and read them and that is very helpful for future life and working.
We ask for your strength to help everybody around the world to excel and reach their full potential, but to do that they need confidence to carry on through life. In the Lord’s name we pray.
    Amen
    By George
