Welcome to the Early Years at Cathedral School.

Early Years at Cathedral School provides children with a warm, kind and caring start to their school life.

Formed of a Nursery and Reception class, the Early Years team work together to provide the children with excellent learning experiences.

Our Nursery offers both Full Time and Part Time Places. We also offer eligible families 30 Hours free childcare. Click here for more information about the 30 Hours.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is a very important stage in a child’s life as it helps prepare for school ‘readiness’ as well as preparing them for their future learning and successes. Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. At Cathedral School, we believe in providing a secure foundation for future learning and development for our pupils.

We continuously encourage pupils to be independent, curious, creative and resilient learners who show respect for each other, their communities and the environment. Through our teaching and learning approach, we develop pupils’ communication skills, ensuring that they know how to appropriately express themselves. By establishing effective and supportive relationships with pupils, our EYFS aims to ensure that pupils feel valued as individuals, are empowered to meet their own needs and enjoy their learning experience whilst achieving the early years learning goals. Our Christian Ethos permeates through all that we do and is at the heart of our spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of all learners.
