Issue #01 – 16/09/2016 – Curriculum Overview

[heading style="2"]Curriculum Overview[/heading]

Dear Parents,

Soon you will receive a curriculum overview for your child's class. These are a new half termly report on what your child will be learning.

Thank you to the parents who were able to attend the KS2 curriculum evenings. I hope you found the sessions useful when helping your child at home. Parental turnout was good and the comments from parents were very positive. Thank you for your support. I'm sure the EYFS and KS1 evenings will be equally successful.

World Faiths Week

Last week was World Faiths Week and the children in Y1 to Y6 have been learning about festivals of different religions.

Here are the displays which are now displayed in the hall.

These are an excellent standard of displays, which the children worked hard on.

Best wishes

[box title="8.45am Bell" color="#0D83DD"]Teachers are out to say hello and answer any inquiries from 8.40am. Once the bell goes at 8.45am, the teachers' focus is on the children and ensuring an orderly start to the day. If you wish to speak to the teachers, please do so before the bell or after school. After 8.45am the class' Learning Support Assistant however is on hand if you wish to relate something urgent to the class teacher. Teachers are always available after school during the week in an appointment made through the office.

In KS1, once the bell goes, the classes line up. It is at this point 'goodbyes' are said. The children then walk to their classroom with their teacher unaccompanied by parents. Parents should avoid walking to the classroom with their child as it can be disruptive. Thank you for your co-operation with this.
