Issue #17 – 03.03.17 – Book Week 2017

[heading]Book Week 2017[/heading]

Dear Parents,

It was Book Week this week, with lots of events, including the launch of Cathedral School Book Bingo and a balloon debate in each class. Today children and staff at Cathedral School dressed up as their favourite book characters. As ever, the effort and ingenuity that went into the costumes was fantastic.

One of the best things about World Book Day was discovering new authors and remembering forgotten favourites. A very exciting part of the day was the ‘Choose a story session’. Children were able to choose a story from a selection before finding out which teacher would read it to them.

Each child received a World Book Day book token which they can either use to buy one of the offical World Book Day publications or they can put towards the cost of a book of their choice.

For more information about these books and how to spend the book token please visit the World Book Day website.

The school is now busy making class displays of the learning which took place this week.

And finally, as a school, we also really appreciate the fact that parents made such an effort to ensure that children had such magnificent and imaginative costumes.

Best wishes,

Mrs Scott
Headteacher
