Nursery Saves the Day!

Nursery have been hard at work finding ways to scare away the monster that has been after our flower bulbs. We thought it might look like this:

We found out it was a monster so horrible it was scared of its own reflection, so decided to make some shiny monster-scarers to frighten it away!

We also made a big scarecrow together, working very hard on our sewing skills.

We wrote letters to the rest of the school warning them about the creature, and got some wonderful letters in reply. Thank you very much especially to Class 2 and Class 5 for their very interesting and helpful ideas.

Something has been in the garden…

A strange creature has visited our garden over the weekend and tried to steal our flower bulbs.

Nursery have had a close look at the evidence it left behind. We interviewed some key witnesses to find out what sort of creature it was.

For our next move, we need to find a good way to scare the creature away. If you have any ideas that might help, please post a comment for us!

RE: Celebrations

We have begun our topic of Celebrations by learning about Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Light.

We shared our experiences of Bonfire Night and found out that Hindus celebrate Diwali with Fireworks too.

We learnt the story of Rama and Sita and made some Diya lamps with playdough and gems.

The Nursery is now full of beautiful fireworks! Take a look:

What do you know about Diwali?

Can you describe the shapes the fireworks make?
