WOW! What a busy busy week it has been in Reception!
From animals, to poppies, to Diwali and our first trip out, plus starting to learn our Nativity – PHEW!
Here’s a look at what we have been doing!
ANIMALS
On Monday, Rob from Reptile Life bought in lots of animals for us to meet. We saw a tortoise, a snake, a crocodile, a skunk and a meerkat!
POPPIES
On Wednesday, the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour, we observed 2 minutes silence. We made pictures of poppies and spoke about why they are important and special.
DIWALI
Also on Wednesday we celebrated the festival of lights, Diwali. We made Diva lamps and made pictures of fireworks. Using lots of lovely colours, we also made Mehndi patterns.
PLANTING BULBS
On Thursday we went on our first trip of the year to the Cathedral. Whilst we were there we got to plant bulbs in a garden bed that is shaped like a cross. We hope that when we go back to the Cathedral again for the Easter service, we will be able to see the flowers that have grown.
WHAT A BUSY WEEK!
Reception are very proud of their displays. So much of their work gets celebrated on our display boards both in the classroom and around the school. We also have a board in our class where we can showcase our busy work from home.
