Welcome to Reception!

Welcome to Reception!

We have had a very exciting couple of weeks with all of the children having a great time getting to know each other and the adults in our class! We have spent lots of time getting to know the routines of the school day and the children can now independently organise themselves at the start and end of the day.

Last week in Reception we created our Class Charter. We spoke about all of the things we have a right to at school, such as being safe, being respected and learning. We also thought about what we need to do to ensure that everyone gets those rights. As a class, we decided that we need to take care of each other and our classroom, be kind to one another, listen to each other and always try our best!

Thank you to all the parents that made it to the Curriculum Evening last Wednesday. You can find the slideshow which contains some information and ideas of things to do at home below.

By now, you should have received your child’s welcome pack containing WOW stickers, a ‘Getting to Know You’ form, your child’s ‘Practise Pack’ and a ‘Learning at Home’ booklet. If you have not yet received this, please let Miss Keohane or Sara know. Further information about the welcome pack can be found in the Curriculum Evening slideshow below.

Once again, please ensure that all school uniform, PE kits and water bottles are named. A key ring on the exterior of school bags will also help Reception children identify their own bag quickly. This is helpful as we encourage the children to organise their belongings independently.

Finally, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to come and see Miss Keohane or Sara- we are more than happy to help as much as we can!
