Our school trip to London Aquairum

Last week,we had a very exciting start to our new topic, The World Around Me, when we went on our first class trip to London Sea Life Aquarium.
We saw lots of fish, crocodiles, stingrays, penguins and sharks. The children were very excited when we spotted Nemo and Dory!
The children’s behaviour was impeccable, something that was mentioned by members of the public throughout the day!
Thank you very much to all of our helpers.
Here are some pictures of our trip:

This week, in Maths we are learning to halve numbers up to 10. We have started looking at halving by splitting objects equally into 2 groups and finding how many is in each group. In line with Cathedral School’s Book Week, in English we are reading David Wiesner’s ‘The Three Pigs’, where the three pigs get blown out of the book by the wolf. The children are then writing their own stories where fairy tale characters fall out of the book. This week, we will also be designing illustrations to go along with our stories and making pancakes!
