This week, Reception have been making rockets as part of our transport themed DT week.
First, we designed our rockets and wrote a list of what we would need which included a plastic bottle, foil, ribbon, stickers and card. Next, we made our rockets by wrapping the bottles in foil and then adding a nose made out of card, exhaust flames made out of ribbon and stickers to decorate.

This week, we also learned the sounds ‘l’ ‘f’ ‘ss’ ‘ck’ ‘ll’ and the words ‘Mum’ ‘Dad’ ‘big’. In Maths, the children drew around their feet and measured how many squares long they were. In RE, we thought about why Jesus is special to Christians. Last week, we read the story ‘Jesus Feeds the 5000’ and this week we made baskets filled with fish and bread to help us to understand the miracle of the story.
