Summer 1 Week 2 Trip to the Aquarium

Stars of the week: Zane and Arabella

We had a very exciting week visiting the Aquarium this week. We were able to see a whole range of different marine life from huge sharks to tiny clown fish. The children were all very well behaved for their first trip, well done Reception!

Well done to Zane as he wrote some fantastic instructions on how to plant a seed and to Arabella for her fantastic gymnastics.

Summer 1 – Week 1 Look at the garden grow!

Stars of the week: Harry and Elishua

It has been wonderful having the Reception children back after a restful Easter break. We have been starting our new topic “Look at the garden grow!” We went on a hunt around the playground to find things which grew and did not and made our very own garden centre in the home corner.

Well done to Harry and Elishua for getting stars of the week. I was very impressed by Harry making his name out of lego and to Elishua for trying so hard with his writing.

Spring 2 Week 5 – Positive Pebbles

Stars of the Week: Sadie and Leopold

This week we have been decorating some pebbles with uplifting words and pictures to spread positivity around the community.

I have also been very impressed with Reception because they have been fantastic with learning their number bonds to ten.

Well done to Sadie and Leopold for their fantastic effort and attitude toward learning this week.

Spring 2 – Week 2 Ten delicious teachers

Stars of the week: Maleeha and Lucia

This week has been book week and we have been focusing on the book ten delicious teachers – where on their way home from school ten teachers are eaten by greedy monsters. This week we have been creating our very own monsters, giving them a name, thinking about how many eyes they have and what they like to eat.

Spring 1 – Week 6 Kings and Queens

Stars of the week: Ariana

On Thursday it was History Day so we all came to school dressed as kings and queens. We learnt about the present day king and a few kings from the past and put them onto a timeline. We also looked at the different features of castles and how they kept the castle safe. We looked at castles from around the world and chose which one we wanted to live in.

Spring 1 – Week 5 Chinese New Year

Stars of Week: Lourdes and Mia

This week we have been learning all about Chinese New Year celebrations. We have acted out the story of the race of the animals of the Zodiac. We have learnt a lot about what it is like to live in China and have practiced writing our numbers in Mandarin. We got creative by making a lantern for the lantern festival that is held on the 15th day of the new year celebration.
