Spring 2 – Week 2 Ten delicious teachers

Stars of the week: Maleeha and Lucia

This week has been book week and we have been focusing on the book ten delicious teachers – where on their way home from school ten teachers are eaten by greedy monsters. This week we have been creating our very own monsters, giving them a name, thinking about how many eyes they have and what they like to eat.

Spring 1 – Week 6 Kings and Queens

Stars of the week: Ariana

On Thursday it was History Day so we all came to school dressed as kings and queens. We learnt about the present day king and a few kings from the past and put them onto a timeline. We also looked at the different features of castles and how they kept the castle safe. We looked at castles from around the world and chose which one we wanted to live in.

This week we have been learning all about Chinese New Year celebrations. We have acted out the story of the race of the animals of the Zodiac. We have learnt a lot about what it is like to live in China and have practiced writing our numbers in Mandarin. We got creative by making a lantern for the lantern festival that is held on the 15th day of the new year celebration.

Spring 1 Week 4

Stars of the week: Timothy and Arthur

This week we have been looking at the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and children have enjoyed telling the story to their friends, especially when they get to say “Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum!” We have also been looking at stories with morals in them and thought about how we can carry out the moral in our own lives. In RE we looked at how Jesus healed people who were sick and we looked after our class teddy bear who came down with chicken pox!

Spring 1 Week 3

We also looked at different types of bridges all around the world and made our own bridges out of the

construction materials in class.

Spring 1 Week 2

Stars of the week: Harry and Leo L
This week in Reception we have been doing some great RE learning. We learnt about the story of Jesus helping the disciples to catch 153 fish then we made some fish out of hearts. We have been learning about New Year and have made some resolutions so hopefully we will be seeing children drinking lots of water, making new friends, starting new hobbies and tidying up in 2023!

Welcome back Reception!

Stars of the week: All of Reception!

Reception have had a fantastic start back at school starting their new topic Terrific Tales. We also also been celebrating art week which has had a London theme. We have looked at the artist Todd Parr who uses bright colours and bold lines to create his art. We painted a bold colour background and cut out bright colour shapes to make different London Landmarks.

Beautiful London Artworks

Stars of the week: All of Reception!

Thank you Reception for being so brilliant. You are all real life super stars.

During this busy week, the children created some fantastic paintings of London skylines and incredible construction models of famous landmarks.

A huge well done for all your hard work and acts of kindness.

The children used water colours to create their own Monet pictures of London. The effects are truly dramatic. The photographs show just how impressive their work is.
