Cathedral Primary School worked film-maker Sam Lawlor to to explore the history of film. Pupils researched the ages of cinema and scripted short scenes depicting different eras. After acting and filming on location around the Southbank, they practised editing techniques and using special effects.

I really enjoyed your film:) it was hilarious I especially enjoyed the part when Shakira and Nicole were doing their evil laugh ” Muhahahahahahahaha!” :):):):):) I really liked when Mimi and Renee were dancing. Well done Yr 4! I thought your film was amazing, and I have watched it twice already; you all showed fabulous acting skills and you looked like you were having lots of fun. When Miss Fullana let us watch it, I was entranced. As our class are doing news reports in Literacy, me and my partner decided to do our report on your amazing film! It must have been a very enjoyable term, and you must have been really looking forward to seeing your film in the BFI, I know I would if I were there. Excellent work, you should be very proud of yourselves!
I think you put a lot of effort on your movie I think you should make a longer one and get it published! I think it really looks good because of all the effects that you added e.g. when Nancy is in a world of black and white until Lola (an angle) comes and transforms the colourless world into a world of colour; but then person comes and offers an apple to Nancy who is then put in a world with no colour. I wish we went to a trip like that!

Your films are some of the best I have ever seen in my life, and I’m not joking! You are so lucky to have been able to do that and I think you are all excellant actors and actresses! What did you enjoy doing most: watching the films or making them? I am truly amazed to see such wonderful masterpieces! Me and Poppy wrote an article about your films in the school newsletter and she agrees with me about how wonderful your films are. If I had to some-up all the of them, with one word, I’d say: amazing!

Wow year 4, the film was amazing. It must have been so much fun creating the film. I also learnt a lot of new things about the history of film that i didn’t know before.
I really liked your film; the bit I loved the most was the discovery of special effects because that made it more realistic and the film was amazing at that point.
I think the film was made really well and the acting was extremely good. It also looked very professional and I enjoyed it a lot. Well done Year 4!! Great work!!

I really enjoyed your film year 4, it learnt a lot about how the world started off with film and to be honest in prefer having coloured movies and movies that have sound! I enjoyed the bit where Naliah and Araya doing there own little thing but IN COLOUR and I really liked the bit where Tullia, Vanessa and Ashley went into the party I think it was cool because when they opened the door and music came on and then when they closed the gate the music went off and then they started to talk and that was a good surprise and I really enjoyed it so thank you you year 4 and well done! 🙂 😀 😉
