Autumn 2 Week 1

Stars of the week: Ishan and Jonah

Nursery have had a great return to school after the half term break. This week, the class learnt about the religious festival of Diwali. Children explored how Diwali is celebrated by different families and then thought about celebrations that they have with their own families, such a birthdays, Christmas and Easter.

Stars of the Week: Theodora and Willow

We are enjoying the season of Autumn in Nursery! This week, we went on a walk and looked for signs of Autumn! We found lots of leaves and collected them, then later children completed their own leaf rubbing pictures in class! Well done to all on a great first half term in Nursery, have a lovely break!

Autumn 1 Week 6

Stars of the Week: Raheem and Maeve

Nursery have had a busy week of learning! In Maths we have been looking  at counting with 1:1 correspondence and in English we looked at the story The Leaf Man and thought about different settings. Children have also enjoyed using the equipment outside and exploring different activities in the outdoor area.

Autumn 1, Week 5

Stars of the week:  Amar and Coco-Eve

This week, Nursery have been looking at colours in our Art session. We played a sorting game on the carpet where children had to sort different objects by the correct colour and put it on the right plate! Children have also explored colour mixing and enjoyed learning how to make a new colour. Well done on all your creative work Nursery.

Autumn 1 Week 4

Stars of the Week: Nia and Blake

Nursery have had another busy week at school! Children have explored the text We’re Going on a Bear Hunt in English this week have done lots of lovely work to go with it. Children have also been practicing their name writing with Mrs Copeland and Debbie and are working hard on their pencil control. Keep up the great learning Nursery!

Curriclum Evening

Thank you to all those who attended Nursery’s curriculum evening on Tuesday. As mentioned, please find the PowerPoint attached below.

Main points from curriculum evening:

  • Children will start receiving reading books this week. These are shared (wordless) books to enjoy with adults at home. They will be changed on Wednesdays, so please ensure books are brought in on this day.
  • Please have water bottles labelled and filled up each morning before school.
  • Parents should not bring any children into the classroom during morning drop off.
  • Please practice pencil grip and name writing with the take home activities given out.

Exploring outdoors! Au1 Week 3

Stars of the week: Arlo and Caleb

Nursery have enjoyed a lot of outdoor learning this week. Our activities outside have included using the bikes and hoppers, using the balance beam, moving on the climbing frame and many writing and reading tasks! Nursery are continuing to work on our daily routines and settling into school. Well done on another great week.
