Making London Landmarks!

Our topic in Geography this term is looking at our local area. During our previous geography sessions we have been discussing famous London landmarks. This week we had a great geography lesson and children used different materials to design and construct their own London Landmark. See if you can think about which famous London Landmark some of class 1 have made from these photos!

The first few weeks in class 1

Class 1 have had a great start to the year. The first week back was Worlds Faiths week at Cathedral School and we were focusing on how light is used across different religions. Class 1 looked at the importance of light in Christianity and Hinduism and worked hard to produce candles made from lots of different materials! Here is our work on display in the hall.

Literacy

We have started our class text for this term, a Roald Dahl favourite- George’s Marvellous Medicine! The children have really engaged well with the first few chapters of this text which we have read as a class and are eager to find out what happens next! In groups, class 1 made prediction mind maps about what they think will happen as the exciting story develops! Our mind maps are on display in our classroom.
