ZUMBA!

Just when we thought this year in Class 5 couldn’t get any better – we’re visited by the founder of Zumba for a special dance tutorial! Everyone was so excited to be part of the session and couldn’t wait to get started. But no-one expected it to be quite as much fun as it actually was. The class danced and jived, and exercised really vigorously without even noticing!

Memories of Year 5

Well what a year in Class 5! There have been so many highlights that it’s almost impossible to list them on a single blog entry. Below are a few photos that show just some of the amazing events that have happened during the last year in Class 5. Was your highlight when the Queen visited? Was it when you got to go to Downing Street to meet Prime Minister David Cameron? Was it when you organised your own trip to the Science Museum? Was it when Shell visited to teach us investigative science skills? Was it when you performed at International Evening? Was it when we performed at The Royal Festival Hall? Was it when we performed the Nativity story at the Cathedral? Was it when you presented your projects to your friends? Or was it something else that happened this year?

Have a look at the photos below and cast your mind back over this amazing year in Class 5.

Independent Learning – Science Projects

Once again, Class 5 have excelled with their project work. After the success of the One Day In History projects in the Spring Term, the pupils in Class 5 created some wonderful work for the World Of Science task.

All the children developed their researching skills by using a variety of sources to find out information about a famous scientist or invention. They then developed their presenting skills by choosing a medium to show their findings to different classmates – we saw working models, videos, posters, bespoke websites and a youtube video of an experiment in action!

Have a look at the work on show and leave a comment in the comments section below to describe your thoughts on the science projects.

International Hockey Tournament at The Queen Elizabeth II Olympic Park

Hockey Club (featuring many pupils from Class 5) visited The Queen Elizabeth II Olympic Park in Stratford to watch an international hockey tournament featuring the English national hockey team.

Everyone was really excited, can you guess which famous athlete inspired them as they entered the Olympic park?

International sport is very exciting when the teams line up for the national anthems and everyone gets to sing along with their countries anthem. England were looking very impressive in their all-red kit.

Hockey club got to study the tactics of the match which will help them improve their own performances when they’re competing in their own tournaments in the future.
