KS1 Film Night

On Friday 21st June, Cathedral School hosted a second film night for children in KS1. If you haven’t seen the Minions film before, then I would heartily recommend it as all of the children in Year 1 and 2 seemed to really enjoy it! .

Thank you to all of the staff who supported with the running and organising of this event, and a great big thank you to the parents for your generous donations. The KS1 film night raised an incredible £431.

All of the money raised from the film nights for KS1 and KS2 will be spent on Maths resources for the school.

So far this total is £1041!

What another great week of brilliant Maths entries!

I love seeing all of your clever calculations to the problems – don’t forget to write about how you solved it! Here are some good ideas for beginning your sentences to help when you explain your mathematical thinking.

I figured out … by…
I noticed…
Something that is important to remember is…
I thought…
I solved the problem by…
I can prove my thinking by …
The strategy I used was…
I think … because…
… and … are similar/different because…
This reminds me of … because…
I knew my answer was correct because…
The first thing I did to solve the problem was…
I know the answer is reasonable because…
I can check my answer by…
I can prove my thinking by…
I know my answer is correct because…
The strategy I used was….
Another strategy you could use would be…
I know this because…
