Spring 2 Week 5

Stars of the Week: All of Class 1!

Class 1 have had a brilliant week working hard at school. They delivered an excellent Collective Worship on Tuesday which they are all very proud of! Well done to all children for speaking so clearly and confidently, plus singing so well to our new song. Here is our Collective Worship video below.

Collective Worship Song

Recycle it- Lyrics

(We stop singing at 2.26)

Here’s a song we like to sing;

It’s all about recycling.
If you don’t know what to do
Listen to us and we’ll tell you.

Paper, metal, cans and card,
All can be recycled at the junkyard,
Clothes, glass bottles, plastic too,
Reuse them, it’s good to do.
                           (break)

Lots of things can be reused,
Furniture and your old shoes,
Think before you throw it away,
‘Could it be reused for another day?’

Paper, metal, cans and card,
All can be recycled at the junkyard,
Clothes, glass bottles, plastic too,
Reuse them, it’s good to do.
                            (break)

Rubbish, litter:
RECYCLE IT! RECYCLE IT!

RECYCLE IT! RECYCLE IT!

Trash and garbage:
RECYCLE IT! RECYCLE IT!

RECYCLE IT! RECYCLE IT!

Try to recycle ev’rything,
If you can’t then put it in the bin,
That way you’ll keep our neighbourhood clean,
Don’t leave litter to be seen.

Paper, metal, cans and card,
All can be recycled at the junkyard,
Clothes, glass bottles, plastic too,
Reuse them, it’s good to do.

Spring 2 Week 4

Stars of the week: Alberto and Raina

Last week, Class 1 had a wonderful trip to Pizza Express! Children got to learn about lots of different ingredients, make their own pizza’s from scratch and take it back to school for lunch! It was a wonderful morning, please enjoy our photos below.

Stars of the Week

Well done to Jonah and Tara who are this weeks star of the week!

Class 1 have worked hard on their English skills this week and we have been looking at alliteration from our class text The Rainbow Bear. Children learnt that alliteration means when numerous words in the same sentence start with the same letter, and they also practiced some alliteration with their own names! Here are a few examples :

Grace is getting a game

Avani picks all the apples from Australia

Thomas is terrible at training tigers

Sienna is scared of the slithering snake

Taylie talks to Thomas

Spring 2 Week 2- Wonderful Weaving

Stars of the week: Lara and Ibrahim

Class 1 are really enjoying their new DT unit on weaving. Children  had their first lesson last week and lots of them got on so well- even though it can be quite tricky! We started off with paper weaving, but will be doing different types of weaving across the weeks, such as string and straw.

Spring 2 Week 1

Stars of the Week: Orpheus and Micah

This week in Maths, Class 1 have started learning to count in groups of 2s and 5s. In our lessons, children have been making groups of 2 and 5 and then counting how many are in each group. Children have had lots of practical lessons to support their understanding with this. Well done on all working  so hard Class 1.

Spring 1 Week 6

Stars of the Week: LJ and Sienna

We’ve had a great last week of term in Class 1. Children have been working really hard with their writing, phonics and foundation subjects. Class 1 had a wonderful time celebrating History Day yesterday and we had a range of outfits in class- such as Victorian maids, Dodger, soldiers and many more. Well done on making such a great effort Class 1. Wishing you all a lovely half term break.
