This week in RE we have started our unit of Judaism. In our lesson this week, children explored some artefacts from this religion, such as; The Torah, a Menorah, a Kippah and a Yad. Children produced some excellent work in this lesson and are excited to learn about some Jewish symbols next week! Well done on a great week Class 1.

Class 1 have had another busy week of learning. We have started some writing on our new class text The Tiger Who Came to Tea which children are really enjoying. In History, our topic this term is Transport where we will be making comparisons between the past and present. We went on a transport walk this week, around our local area including Borough High Street. We saw buses, cars, motorbikes and many more! There are some pictures below, enjoy!

Well done to Class 1 on an excellent first week back. You have all settled so well and have made a great start to the year. Children have produced some lovely first pieces of work in their new English and Maths books and we have done some work on our handwriting this week too! What a fantastic start you have all made!
Class 1,
I can’t believe we have come to the end of the year already! What a journey we have been on together, from home learning , to now seeing you off ready for Class 2. You have all made me so so proud, please make sure you come and visit me (I’ll just be in the classroom next door!) I know you will be absolutely fine next year.
Thank you Parents for all your support over the last 2 years, it makes such a difference! Have a wonderful summer.

Dear Class 1 Parents,
I cannot believe my year at Cathedral School has flown by so quickly! I have absolutely loved working in Class 1 and feel so lucky to have watched each and every child blossom in their beautiful and individual ways. Your children have been full of kindness and smiles! Thank you so much for your support and gifts over the months. I’ll definately be keeping in touch with Cathedral! I’ve cried lots of goodbye tears, but it’s time for the next adventure!
Lots of happy wishes,
Ellie

We have been doing some wonderful weaving in Class 1 this half term. Children tried really hard to weave their strips of paper in and out to make a lovely colourful woven sheet of paper. We have also used thread and wool to complete some weaving activities too!
