Autumn 1 Week 1 – A great start to Year 3!

Stars of the Week: Masroor and Rosa

We have had a fantastic first week in Class 3! Mrs Chan and Kim have been so impressed by everyone’s positive attitude and hard work. We have enjoyed sharing books that we love with the class and had some really interesting discussions. Well done to Masroor and Rosa for creating some beautiful work for our classroom displays.

Keep it up, superstars!

Summer 2 Week 6 – Science Authors!

Stars of the Week: Noella and Terrence

This week, Class 3 completed their non-fiction books about a science topic of their choice. In pairs, the children created books on one of the topics studied this year, using either Book Creator, Comic Life, or making their book by hand.

We hope you enjoy reading them, and learn a few fun science facts!

Next week in Class 3… we will be preparing for Year 4 with some transition activities!

Summer 2 Week 5 – Sports Week!

We had a fantastic Sports Day on Thursday. Everyone tried their best and encouraged each other, and most of all, had lots of fun! Thank you to the Year 3 families for coming out to cheer on the class – we loved having you there!

Summer 2 Week 4 – Tuesley Farm

Stars of the week: All of Class 3

Well done to all of class 3 for your enthusiasm and brilliant behaviour on our trip to Tuesley Farm yesterday! Robert and Mary at the farm were very complimentary about our school and said they look forward to welcoming us back next year!

We wrote some thank you letters to the farm after our visit. Here are a few:

Next week is Sports Week! We are all looking forward to Year 3 sports day on Thursday morning.

Summer 2 Week 3

Stars of the Week: All of Class 3

Well done to all of Class 3 for their fantastic efforts on the assessments this week, and for working so hard on our Collective Worship! We’ll be recording today and can’t wait to share all our learning with you next week.

Next week in Year 3…. we are visiting Tuesley Farm to go fruit picking!

Summer 2 Week 2 – Super Scientists!

Stars of the Week:Ben and Parker

We have been learning about the different parts of plants in science this term, and went to Redcross gardens to observe different kinds of stem, leaf and flower. We also found out how some plants use their stems to climb up walls, fences and other plants. We found some clematis, ivy and bindweed in the playground, which all climb in different ways!
Parker and Ben both observed the plants very carefully, and were brilliant at spotting different climbing plants. Well done, super scientists!

Summer 2 Week 1 – Hansel and Gretel

Stars of the Week: Martha and Thomas

In Class 3, we have started a very exciting project called ‘Create and Sing’, from the Royal Opera House! We are learning parts of the opera, Hansel and Gretel, by Engelbert Humperdinck. The class wrote some fantastic, atmospheric setting descriptions of the enchanted forest in English. Martha and Thomas chose their words really carefully to create some powerful pieces of writing. Keep it up, superstars!

Next week… we will continue to work on staging scenes from Hansel and Gretel, using music, dance and drama to bring the story to life.
