Exploring Space

In Year 5 this week, we have been exploring our Solar System.

Today, in our Science lesson we recreated the distance between planets using toilet roll! One square represented 115,820,000km!

We have also been coming up with our own mnemonics to help us remember the order of the planets. Share your mnemonics in the space below.

Curriculum Evening

curriculum-evening

Thank you so much to all of the parents who attended our Year 5 Curriculum Evening – it was lovely to meet you and I hope that you found it beneficial. I have attached the slides for those parents who were unable to attend. In addition, I have also saved a pack of resources for you from the evening, which I will give to you at Parents Evening later on this half term.

In the meanwhile, if you would like to speak to me about anything, I will be available in the playground from 8.40 each day, and then at the end of the day at 3.15.

Welcome back Class 5

It has been an absolute pleasure to meet Class 5. We have had a lot of fun learning about Islam as part of our World Faiths Week. The children have worked extremely hard to produce some beautiful Eid cards, henna patterns and some Islamic Art.

We have also written our class charter of rights that we are going to respect in our classroom this year. I think you will agree that they are all extremely valuable and important.

In this classroom, we have the right to:

  1.  an opinion
  2. choose our own friends
  3. an education, and to be encouraged to go to school
  4. choose our own religion and beliefs and to be respected no matter who you are or where you are from
  5. smile!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday!

Smile Class 5!
