Autumn 2 Week 1

Stars of the Week: Freddie and Isabelle

Class 1 have settled in well after the half term break. We have started our new text ‘Paddington’ this half term which everyone is really enjoying! During the week, children wrote some advice on how to look after this lost bear and wrote some excellent sentences. Well done on a great week everyone!

Week 7

Stars of the Week: Nathan A and Mila

Class 1 have worked so hard in their maths this half term! We have looked at greater than and less than, part whole models, bonds to 10 and ordinal numbers! On Fridays, we have free-flow maths lessons and consolidate our learning for the week. Well done for all your hard learning this half term Class 1, you all deserve a good rest!

Black History Month!

October is Black History Month and during History this week, Class 1 looked at some historical black figures, such as Nelson Mandela. We had a discussion about how we all look different, have different likes and interests and different types of families. We celebrated the fact that we have a range of children in our class from different backgrounds and children were reminded that we don’t treat others differently if they look different to us! We ended the lesson by reading the Twinkl book ‘We are all Different’ which children really enjoyed.

Stars of the Week!

Stars of the Week (for last week, W/B 11.10.21) Scarlett and Julian

Class 1 have been looking at Judaism this half term in RE. Last week, children looked at the Holy book in Judaism called the Torah. They learnt about how it is used, the language it is written in and where it is kept in a Synagogue. Each child also had the chance to look at one that we had in school, we carefully passed it around a circle!

Week 5- Mini Marathon!

Stars of the week: Esther and Jayvaughn

Class 1 have been participating in the London mini marathon for schools during our recent PE lessons! After a quick warm up, children have been jogging, walking and running for 15 minutes to complete their 2.6 miles. Well done for really pushing yourselves Class 1, you are all doing a great job.

Week 4

Stars of the week: Adeel and Xanthe

You have all worked so hard this week Class 1. It was lovely to hear how impressed Mrs Scott was with your lovely writing this week in English as we continue to look at the text The Tiger who came to Tea. You have also worked well in our maths sessions this week as we’ve been looking at greater than, less than and equal to, keep it up!

Autumn 1, Week 3

Stars of the week: Abigail and Joseph

Class 1 have worked very hard this week, especially during our computing lesson on Monday. Children learnt how to open a laptop safely, log in, then how to shut down a laptop correctly. We practised this many times and children are getting much more confident. A big well done to Class 1 for also behaving so well on our visit to the Cathedral on Tuesday, some of you have never been before and you all sat perfectly!
