All about Jamaica

Class 2 have been learning about Jamaica for International Week. We created artwork that shows the Jamaican flag and beach scenes. Mrs St Lewis, that’s Miss St Lewis’ mum, was born in Jamaica and she visited our class to talk about what it was like to live there. Also we worked at home to produce mini projects about Jamaica. What a great week!

I loved learning about Jamaica! Usain Bolt is a very fast sprinter. He must eat lots of fruit and vegetables, and drink lots of water to win lots of races. When he wins races he does a trademark celebration. Bob Marley is a very famous singer. He made reggae music popular throughout the world. Mary Seacole is a Jamaican nurse. She was very good at taking good care of people.

I loved it when Mrs St Lewis came to our class. The raffle bag looked very exciting!!! I wish I got to pick something out of the bag. I also liked making a Jamaican beach. I can’t believe Usain Bolt is the fastest runner in the universe. I would love to be in Jamaica because of the delicious food they have there.
