Weekly Spellings – er suffix

Below are the spellings for this week’s Spelling Test in Class 2.

The theme for this week’s spellings is using the er suffix.

There are the usual 10 words to learn and there is an extension challenge to learn 6 additional words.

Extension Challenge

1. gloomy
2. gloomier

Subtraction

Below is an outline of how to develop subtraction skills:

1. Subtract a 1-digit number from a 2-digit number
2. To link subtraction facts, 42 – 6 = 36 so 42 – 36 = 6
3. Subtract 10 from any 2-digit number.

Extension Challenge

1. Subtract 3 numbers
2. Subtract any 2-digit numbers using the Column Method.
