Green fingered in the greenhouse

Kim visited Class 3 for our Science lesson today. We learned about what a greenhouse is and why it is used. We also found out what germination and propagate mean.

We asked lots of interesting scientific questions:

How much sunlight does a plant need to grow?
How much water does a plant need?
What’s the most unusual plant you’ve grown?
How do weeds grow? Why do we need to get rid of weeds?
How long does it take for a plant to grow?
What happens if you put too much soil in?
Why do plant pots need to have holes in?
Why are worms good for the soil?

We even asked:
How do you know so much about gardening?

Then we all went to the greenhouse to plant some seeds. We will keep our eye on them to see how they grow over the half term.

A big thank you to Kim for helping us and teaching us so much!
