Stars of the Week: Astrid and Joseph
In our Science lesson this week, we tested the porosity, durability and density of different rocks. To test the porosity, we sprinkled water on the rock to see if it absorbed the water. To test the durability, we rubbed the rock against sandpaper to see if any of the rock came away. To test the density, we dropped the rock in a beaker filled with water to see if it floated. We then discussed the different properties of rocks and how this affects what the rocks can be used for.
