British Science Week

This week Year 5 have been celebrating British Science Week.

We began by having a visit from Professor Whizz Kid who shared with us his Scientific knowledge, and his unusual way to high five!

Then we had a visit from Marta, who showed us a computer game which she had created to help solve problems inside people’s hearts. This was fascinating to learn about, and all of the children in Year 5 had a lot of questions about this!

Thank you so much Marta for giving up your time to come in to talk to us – we really appreciated this!

Next on our Science week schedule, we were learning about the life-cycle of a plant. We had to look very carefully in order to identify the different sections of the flowers.

Then, we had to think like Scientists as we tried to guess what was in the boxes, relying on only our knowledge of materials. Afterwards, we wrote our own descriptions of mystery objects and then read them out loud for other children to guess. If you would like to read them, they will be on our Science board displays.

Have a lovely weekend, and I look forward to seeing you all again on Monday.

I really enjoyed doing science week, I loved learning about magnets and their poles. My favorite part was when Professor Wizz Kid came round to do experiments with us. I would love it if you came back to do more with us:-)

I LOVED it when Professor Whizz Kid cracked extremely humorous jokes!
