This week, Year 5 have been learning about Islam as part of our World Faiths Week. We began by discussing our school motto ‘life in all its fullness.’ Then we looked at famous Muslims who have lived their lives in all its fullness. We discussed a range of people who have inspired us from Nadiya Hussain (Bake Off Winner), to Mo Farah (Olympian), to Sadiq Khan (our London Mayor) to Malala Yousafzai (activist for female education). I was very impressed by the high level of discussion we were having in Year 5, and I am already looking forward to more R.E lessons with you.
Towards the end of the week, we looked at some Islamic Art which inspired us to create our own geometric designs and turn them into fans.
