Year 5 stars of the week: Tito and Isaac
This week, Year 5 have been learning about the Maya Civilisation. We began by looking at the Maya Creation Story. The Maya Civilisation believe that Tepeu (the Maker) and Gucumatz (the Feathered Spirit) created the world. During our English lesson, we performed our own interpretation of this story. I hope that every member of Year 5 feels extremely proud of their amazing acting skills!
In addition, we have also begun to read our class text for this half term called The Corn Grows Ripe.
It is a really informative book, and is useful when learning about what it was like to be a Maya child.
