Starters

In Year 6 this week we have been using different starters.

Here’s what we have used so far…

1) Use a connective:

While Tom waited, the bus arrived.

2) Use an ‘ing’ clause:

Waiting for the others, Megan stared up at the sky.

3) Use and ‘ed’ clause:

Surprised by the bang, Nadim halted.

4) Use a simile:

Like a fish, she dived in.

5) Use an adverb:

Carefully, she removed the bandage.

6) Use one word:

Sad, he turned for home.

There are two more to come this week!

Leave a comment with examples of all six starters. Make sure you number them.
