Good morning and welcome my fellow book-nerds. I was recently elected King of Library land, this means the world to me, I have been entranced by every book I have read.  In my opinion, technology has taken over, you cannot see wonderful settings on a screen.  That is why I propose to you – esteemed guests – to make this book week spectacular, to show those who do not read and feed off the fruitful phrases, that this is their chance to overcome technology!

There are so many benefits; without books, our life would be monotonous. Every day we would look out the window and see the trees admiring the view, but you would know that you were still missing something. You get fabulous vocabulary i.e. monotonous – writing is where futures are made. Do you think Phillip Pullman wrote Northern Lights with no vocabulary?Phillip Pullman’s Northern Lights is unbelievable, it has a wonderful beginning, middle and end. You never know what will happen! If I were you I would go and serve the word of the books.

How are you all, my amigos? I’m pretty sure you know why I’m here (it is book week after all) but if not, then keep your ears wide open; today I’ll be telling you all about books – from your dream princess castle to a battle between two dragons (scary). So, let’s get on with it! First, let me just check, you all must love reading – right? Well anyway, I will tell you aaall about the importance of reading …now…
So first of all, I want to know, what is your favourite book and why? Come on; I think we can have more hands than that! (ask about people’s favourite books) Weeeeelllll… haven’t any of you read Northern Lights, or any of Phillip Pullman’s fabulous stories? Ok – What about… Harry Potter? That’s more like it! All of the books I mention in this speech, will give you amazing vocabulary (if you read them that is). So now, I need to talk to you about reading the perfect book…
If you are young (for example: Nursery, Reception, Year one) then put your hands up, ok… you can put them down now. As I was saying… the perfect book for you would be a picture book; this will give you a great understanding of what’s happening in the story! Ok next: put your hand up if you are in year 2 or year 3, great, hands down. The perfect book for you guys would be a little longer than a picture book (a lot longer if you really think about it) but it will also only include a few pictures. This will give your imagination the chance to help you with reading the book. And now, years 4 and 5; for great spelling, punctuation and vocabulary, you need to read chapter books, this is essential because there will be less pictures, however, although that seems bad, in your head, you will have more time to really think about what is happening in the book and therefore you will understand it better. Last but not least – year 6 (or the people in the stage, whatever you prefer) anyway… less worrying about names, more learning about books! So, in class 6 we recently read ‘The Hobbit’, it’s quite a long book! If you go into our classroom, you will see many more ‘lengthy’ books like this almost all with one or two pictures in it (if not none) to let our imaginations run wild I guess.

Well, that’s all from me, my fellow bookworms and, I really hope this helped you. Have a great book week – bye!

My dear bookisens, as the esteemed King of Besherelle it is in my highest interest to restore the respect of the royal Bookers family. I shall read you all into the mysterious, evocative, sentimental and imaginative world of pages, I shall be by your side reading and watching your eyes dance across the page and listen to your contented hum as the elaborate story develops. I am here for one unique reason – to keep the world reading! From Shakespeare to Jules Vern, Jaqueline Wilson to Chris Bradford, and, of course the other greatest writer of all time. In my day we read some splendid books, not to talk about the book-loving teachers. In YR 6, my passion for books grew from page to page, chapter to chapter…
I have very high regards for books – aiming for a book a week and I read more on book week: to no limit, but the question is, will you meet my expectations? You should read as much as possible, keep your imagination on fire and never give up on a book, however long.
Why books, I hear you say? So your imagination races ahead of all formula 1 racing cars, let your imagination roar with laughter or scream with terror. Films are a great disappointment, the Hobbit film is a disgrace and I thoroughly hate it. Do not disappoint me and read to your heart’s content.
    Farewell bookworms.
P.S.Do not forget to visit the library in Book Week!

How you doing chums? I hope you’re good because I’m here to tell you about reading (urgh), I know what you’re thinking reading is booooring…No! Reading is fun and you have various authors to choose from (I prefer a bit of David Walliams), don’t you agree? But reading comes with a warning: pick age appropriate books or reading will be tragic (I nearly had a heart attack reading The Three Little Pigs, I just thought the wolf was friendly.). So get comfy as I will tell you all about the basics.
Reading is dull when you pick a bad book, for example I read Northern Lights in Year 4 – did not understand a word of it. But as soon as I entered Year 6 – my mind was transformed and I understood everything. So as you get older take your time and start from Look (seriously there is book called Look).  But it is the author’s fault if you end up asleep midway from bawling your eyes out, so here is a few authors that tingle the sweet spot we call – the brain.
JK Rowling, J.R.R Tolkien, David Walliams are the authors that take you on a journey of imagination that never ends. So I advise you pick up Boy in the Dress, and have secret laughs to yourselves all the time and that is what reading is about – having fun! So readers grab a book and readers unite!

Now I have got big news (so if I were you I would be happy to participate), ok now every single one of you have a one way ticket to the brand new celebration of Book Week! Now you are wondering why books are so important. Well our minds feed off the splendid text to make our imaginations more creative. So we must raise our reading glasses and eat the words of wisdom of the pages. And at the end we all shall get a treat. Goodbye and farewell!

‘ello friends! Welcome to my ceremony on books. Actually more than books. It’s Book Week. The week when books feed on our vocabulary-filled brains and take them back to the Vocabatorium. The week when we read all of the most fantabulous, amazing books in the whole wide world. The week when we dress up as James Bond (my personal favourite), and lots of other characters too! Reading is so much fun and can make your day in 10 minutes. So reading, why do it?
The answer to that is… oh yeah so we can fill our minds with more (and better) vocabulary that will be included in our work. Then, every Book Day, all the vocab’ from our memory will be taken back to the Vocabatorium to make new books. The books that we read have great literary devices to make it better and all this stuff influences us to make more and better books than the ones now. Right? Anyway, come on everybody, put down those phones and get off the computer and stop watching TV, and read some books for a change! Who’s with me?

Amigos, how ya doing? I’m here to help you with your special journey this week, BOOK WEEK – my favourite week on the calendar. I love my growing collection of books and you guys should definitely check them out (even if they’re not for your age *wink*), maybe even start your own.  I love reading, don’t you? Because if you don’t, this week is definitely going to change your mind! What’s life without books? I guess I’LL have to tell you allllllllll about it then.
Books, oh glorious books, they made me into the person I am today, While I’m in the mood – we should probably get back to the topic. Let’s follow the yellow brick road to a vivid world of success, in reading, of course. Are you hungry? Because you look like you are; why not find some fragile fruity fiction books and a rhyming raccoon and enjoy all of the joyous books you read every day of book week, ENJOY!!

Hey there book-lovers, I’m going to tell you aaaaaaall about books, from your scariest nightmares to the pink princesses of Fairyland. So let me explain to you all about books; you must love reading (hopefully even more than me). So come on, let your imagination run wild. If you hate reading stories, then by the end of this, you will absolutely love them, will you not?
It’s a world of imagination… you should love reading from comedy (ha ha ha ho ho ho) to horror (da dan daaaa). You can always stories, fairy-tales or chapter books. Reading calms your brain and is a very amusing thing to do in your spare time (although it depends on what genre you’re reading). You also do well in life (as most people think). So, fellow readers, keep on reading and enjoy it (this will also most definitely help you in literacy). After year six, you will love reading, but why wait till year six? Do it now! Bookworms unite!

How are you doing, scallywags? I am going to tell you all why reading books is good for you – well because we are feeding off the information we need! Also it’s giving us new words we have to learn (it improves our writing). Without books we wouldn’t be as smart as we are now. Books, glorious, books, they make you so clever. After you’re in the mood you should…read more and more books each day. I mostly prefer: adventure, fantasy, and comedy because they are very interesting, and make you read on and on and on – till you finish the book. If you do not like books, then you must be choosing the wrong books, aren’t I right?

Calling all Scallywags! Yeah you. As you should all know (and I’m not surprised if they don’t) we are having Book Week held here, Cathedral School- didn’t you hear? I am sure you will aaaaall have a blast. Everybody loves books, don’t they? If you don’t then you are the boringest scallywag that ever, in its life, scallywagged! I’ll tell you why you should be addicted to such captivating, enchanting, intelligence-enhancing page-turners:

Now, I know what you are all thinking:‘There are only two types of books – boring, and not so boring.’ But, I’ll show you what the empires of imagination can provide. Firstly, I will name you all the different genres of books that I know – adventure, historical fiction, non-fiction, horror, thriller, comedy, romance, romcom (search it), mystery, sci-fi. Secondly (and lastly), always read age-appropriate books. You wouldn’t go reading a horror story to a kid would you?

    Greetings my fellow bookworms,
As the (recently elected) prime minister of Libraryland, I will share as many books as possible. As you all know, I am the prime minister of books and king at spelling, only because I am a bookworm and I am proud. If you do not read books, I wonder what Shakespeare will think of you? We must raise our reading glasses and eat the words of wisdom from the books we shall read this week. Books are better than you think, if you were to choose £2,000,000 or a book – hold on – choose a book obviously. If I were a child, I would be reading Northern Lights like there was no tomorrow.

Greetings my fellow book-readers of 2016. As the princess of Booktopia, I am honoured to welcome you to the first weekly meeting of books. I am here to share with you how far books have come; from the first papyrus scroll to these splendid paperbacks and hardbacks that we read today. Let me tell you why we need books.
Imagine a world without our books, without our lifeblood … without imagination. I am here to pull you out of the vile and putrid slums and backstreets of Dickens’ Oliver Twist so that you can wander freely and have an adventure every day in Jordan collage with your new-found daemon, like Lyra Silvertounge and Pantalimon in Northern Lights.
If I were you, I would tell my friends to come to the next meeting. When you read, your imagination feeds off the splendid words that lay before you. Be like a moth to light when you read; let the boredom inside of you burn and die this week. If I were you, I would tell my friends to come to the next meeting. And if you succeed, you will be surprised by a little gift at the end.

How’re you doing amigos (and amigas)? I am here to tell you about books. Books! Books! Why would I want to read books? I hear you ask. Well, let me tell you why you should read books. Right…
Books glorious books, our lifeblood, our portal to places like Jordan College. You don’t know where Jordan College is? You haven’t read the book? Well when you have read the book Northern Lights (I hope you read Northern Lights) you’ll look back at this and laugh. Reading more can help you earn more money when you’re older. It’s scientifically proven. (You’ll understand more about that you’re older.) I’ll give you a tip: to get on the yellow brick road of reading, first you have to choose an age appropriate book. You should also be reading for 10-20 minutes a day, that can benefit you as well; take my friend Simon for instance (oh poor, poor Simon) he only reads 1 minute a day and his vocabulary is very limited. No-one wants to be like Simon.

Greetings my fellow wriggly bookworms. This is the day that will rekindle your imagination, the day of days that you have been looking forward to. As the (recently elected) Duke of Libraryland. I would be honoured for you to join the esteemed, joyous meeting of books – you might know my old friend Prince Philip will not be there this year as I am the new Duke of Library land now! I hope you enjoy the meeting of books.
Why books? They only have pages made out of paper and lovely pretty pictures in them (well some of them). Books are outstanding. If I were to be in charge of the world, I would ship lots of books to every country and nation.
World Book Day is a celebration! It is a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it is a celebration of reading. In fact, it is the biggest celebration of its kind. World book week is marked in over 100 countries all over the world. So, as you have got a taster of world book day, I hope you enjoy this fantastic week.

I’m going to tell you aaall about them things – oh yeah books. You’d like reading right (school say yeah) it’s OK, you don’t need to lie to me. Come on, let me tell you tell you all about reading.
Books glorious books, how they make you so… clever. I’m guessing when you’re older you want to have a lot of dosh (money action) for your future salary, that’s what the teachers and TAs did, for example… Miss Fullana (our teacher), look how she comes to school every day wearing the ‘most finest’ of cloths. Do you want to be like her? Then read. There are lots of different of genre my favorite is comedy. What is yours? [Ask 3 people] Find your genre and you will discover how great books can be!

How you doing chums? I’m here to tell you aaaaaall about reading books – from your most nightmarish horror dreams to your lovely pink unicorns by the lake (BORING). You like reading, right? Common, it costs you nothing – let me tell you why you NEED to read!
Books, glorious books, they strengthen your knowledge of vocabulary and lots more… remember, they can control your future (you’ll get it when you grow up). Hungry? Well, eat up those juicy, fruitful phrases of your page, take yourself on a journey of a life time – and remember life will be a complete misery if you don’t read fluently. If you absolutely hate reading, I am sure you are choosing the wrong book which is not suitable for your age, aren’t I right?
Fabulous books – create a vivid image in your brain and make you want to step into the adventure. If you don’t like to read, I am going to tell you why – ’cause you’re choosing the wrong books, bookworms. If you choose the wrong book you won’t learn anything, you won’t know what the words mean and most importantly you won’t understand it. So if you hate reading now, perhaps you should try again with a book appropriate for your age. Make sure (if your book has pictures in it) you look carefully at them because you might even find something something scary in them. Talking about horror, don’t you think the main thing about books is the genre?
Firstly, I should tell you some of the genres there are: romance, horror, comedy, adventure, thriller and some others.  Let’s grab those books and see how many books you can read this week – and let’s see how many genres you can find. Make sure you check which genre the book you’re studying in class is. I hope you all have a enjoyable and memorable book week!

How’re doing bookworms? I’m here today to tell you aaaaall abut reading books – from pretty pink princesses (urgh) to your nightmarish horror. You all like reading right? Wait you’re just pulling my leg, aren’t you? No? Ok, I will tell you why reading books are so important.

Books glorious books, horror to fantasy, they feed your minds…so eat up those fruitful phrases. Reading isn’t just a good exercise for your mind, but also a good predictor (believe it or not) of your future salary (you’ll get it when you’re older). Remember that life would be very hard if you did not read fluently. Another point to make is to follow the yellow brick road and take yourself on a free journey. If you don’t like reading now then you’re probably reading the wrong genre of book, aren’t I right?

As well as choosing age appropriate books, you need to choose the right genre. If you’re in Nursery, Reception, you I would advise to read picture books; if you are in Year 1, I would I advise you to read longer books (e.g. Fantastic Mr Fox, The Magic Finger and George’s Marvellous Medicine); if you’re in Year 2 and Year 3 I would read chapter books (e.g. Rat Burger, Gangster Granny); and if you’re in Year 4 I would advise to read longer chapter books (e.g. Charlotte’s Web)and Year 5, I would read long chapter books (e.g. The Hobbit and Northern Lights). You need to think about the genre. If you like history – historical fiction – I would recommend The Summer of The Zeppelin, Elvira badly misses her father – but will she find the German spy. If you like mysteries I would recommend The Case of the Ranjuper Ruby, with Sherlock Holmes out only the Baker Street Boys can save the day. Those are my two favourite genres. There are many other genres including: fantasy, myths and legends, science-fiction, horror and many more.

So consider yourself a bookworm, consider yourself part of the book empire…so what are you waiting for? Pick up a book and start reading! BOOKWORMS UNITE!

Book week, this year, will be unique in a good way – it will be more active. It will be an utter privilege to share with you – courageous, exemplary guests and visitors, the reason why books are so captivating, imagine a world without any books, it would be a disaster, life would be boring – but fear not, let us celebrate the importance of reading here today, and we shall celebrate by raising our reading glasses and eating the words of wisdom from the intelligent, mind-expanding books. We shall jump up like kangaroos, enjoying the momentum and living imaginations which this book week will create.

Hola amigos of Bookville! Hope you are enjoying this beautiful sunny morning. Do you know why I’m here? Do you? Well my fellow bookworms, I am here to explain to you aaallll you need to know about books – from dark lords to fairy princesses (yuck). You hungry? Are you? Well I’m starving. C’mon, let me take you to a land full of books waiting for us to gobble up the words like a delicious fruit salad (rumble, rumble). Is that my tummy? Oh deary me!
(Music note) Books, glorious books! (Music note) Books are great honourable little creatures (unlike you lot) giving you tons and tons of information! If you don’t read, then you don’t have an imagination. Struggling to find a book? Let me tell you some good books for when you get older…
As you grow up, you will begin to read harder and harder books. These type of books have trickier words and better vocabulary. Let me give you an example… Northern Lights (By Philip Pullman), Wolf Brother (By Michelle Paver), The Hobbit (By J.R.R Tolkien) and hundreds more! Believe me; after reading these books, you will become a reading master – well, almost.

Greetings my comrades, teachers, parents and fellow bookworms.  Following my recent achievement of becoming Queen of Libraryland, I meet with you all on this fine day and greet you with wide arms; as many of you may already know, this esteemed and fruitful week is the week of books – Book Week. From this day forward (for a week) each one of you will enjoy a book as a class and unite as one (a little bird told me all will be focusing on Anthony Brown).

From back in my day, as a student of this tremendous school, I know (from experience) that this a joyous event however, it is therefore essential that both you and I work together and encourage each other to continue reading the captivating texts around you so – as a school – we can imagine the book days to come and remember the book days of our past.

To have books around us and to have such loving, caring and most certainly willing teachers, parents and/or guardians as well as authors, you have all the resources to read and develop as a person, but also, as a reader. From reading you will have the chance to continue reaching for the stars and, with help from me, and all the other experienced adults you know, the stars will never be as far away as they seem. And in a matter of time, you will be up here (as I am now) performing a speech much like mine.

As my time before you – on this stage – is coming to an end, I would love to give a humble gift to each of you, as a memory of book day 2016! If I were to meet you all in a year’s time I would surely be pleased, as I know you will succeed in your school. So go forward to the world, because after this week, you will have the strength to do that and come up with your own speech using all that you have learned.
Thank you, and have a good day.

Greetings, my fellow citizens of Reada, and welcome to book week. I would recommend you listen to this speech carefully and that you join the esteemed, jubilant meeting of books. I (recently elected and most important) – leader of the Book Embassy – am going to explain to you what a privilege it is for us to be reading these delicate beauties. You see, many others do not realise why we must celebrate this book week of 2016. Why is it a fulfilling privilege to allow our imagination to feed of these splendid texts, I hear you ask? Fear not, we shall all celebrate this instant and look back on all the memories whilst we all raise our reading glasses and bounce around like cats or kangaroos. And at the end, an imaginative treat for each of you. Books are our resource for learning – our life-blood – and they will strengthen your imagination to where it becomes magnificent; you ought to listen. Reading books helps you to learn new vocabulary, and you will have an ingenious brain and be top of the class, but do not get to into it, and you will be disappointed – trust me, it is not fun.
Now, I hope you all enjoy your class gift and have and amazing week. Goodbye humble subjects!

Hiya, bookworms (or not). I’m here to tell you all about books. Books. Put your hand up if you’ve ever read a book.
But why does everyone have to read books? Because no one has anything else to do? Because we are not good at other things? Hmmm… Oh! I know, because they want us to travel through the fantastical kingdom of books! For those who have never been there, I will tell you just a little about it.
It is full of unpredictable happenings – pages of wondrous places! Lots of pop-ups and pop-outs and if your curiosity can drive you any further, then there are fab (uluos) flaps peppered everywhere! However, there are also scary, horrible people and things in this land like wicked wizards and witches, terrible toads, frightening fairies and the list goes on. So when you visit next beware…
Now I’m going to teach you a word .The word is Genre. Genre means a kind or a sort of a story. Please put your hand up if you would like to share a different genre you know.Thank You. Well done. So that’s what a genre is (if you didn’t know), and I’ve got to go but 1 more thing: you should read at least once a day!
    Happy Book Week and goodbye!

My fellow bookworms, teachers, parents, greetings. On such short notice I am to be very pleased by your company. As the (newly elected) prime minister of Bookshook, I will be bookly for all of you to join the esteemed, joyous gathering of all. I know that I will be utterly grateful to share my hopes for this unique week in time. Why is it sometimes a Sherlock Holmes investigation to let our imaginations loose? Fear not, I shall explain. We must raise our reading glasses and eat the words of wisdom we shall read this week. At the end a pleasant surprise for all to see.
I hope for all your future that you remember this week. I hope with all my heart that you will give up … sorry to ask but what do you call those things  … excuse me, those video games and computers. I hope that you read books all day long and read a bit of Northern Lights. Let your imagination feed off the succulent words and let us get to know a better understanding of life through the books we read. Reading will help your education – so read. Let us celebrate this joyous time by reading ‘Joyous Time’ (by me).

Greetings, children of Cathedral School; as you are gathered in my presence today I would like to officially welcome you all to Book Week – a week where the young generations enter a world full of imagination,  where you can win a Golden Ticket or crusade over the Seven Seas.
Books have been around since the Egyptians created the papyrus paper and from that, esteemed authors like J.K. Rowling, J.R.R Tolkien and (my favourite) David Walliams have produced their work. It took inspiration, imagination and perspiration to create a story – where do you think the Demon Dentist came from? How times have changed; in my time, there were no electronics to tap on every second of every living hour, and some modern day children do not appreciate the quality of the books laid out for them, but they instead decide they want to not read. If I were their age, I would have finished the whole of Shakespeare’s sonnets. So parents, tell your children the importance of reading as a beacon of a fulfilling, imaginative, prosperous mind. Let us raise our pince nez glasses to reading.

Greetings my loyal subjects; welcome to the start of a new imaginative era. I am pleased and honoured to be Queen of books and I feel privileged to restore our passion and imagination. Esteemed guests – picture a world without books; I am standing up here today to change the dull words into evocative adjectives to lead us to a fantasy world. If I were to stand here another day and give my speech, I would not succeed – but today I am ready. It is a high privilege for your eyes to dance around a book, while your fingers flick through the pages; this is why I am your Queen of books. We must raise our reading glasses, and eat the words of wisdom from the magical books.

How you guys doing today, my amigos? I have come here to tell you about reading. Now everyone has to read; reading is a good thing, do you agree? Reading helps your brain so that in your lessons, you can think back to what you have read and you can put it in your work. If you haven’t started reading, you’re about to. Let’s talk about why we read.
Books glorious books, they make you feel clever… everybody needs to read. Who wouldn’t read? You’re going to start reading at one point because it’s a really good thing to do in your life and if you do this you’ll be very clever and I know that all of you want to be clever, don’t you? If you read, you will do well.
Some books are for big children and some books are for small children. I know all of you are clever and you can choose the book that is appropriate for your age. For example, Year 5 and Year 6 are big so they can read really big books like The Hobbit. So I think you know where I’m going, right?
Come on and start reading books. This week is book week and I know that all of you are going to read lots of books so good luck and be clever!
    Goodbye!

Howdy, peeps, how’re you doing? Good… ah yes thought so. I’m here to tell you aaaaallllll about books – from your boring, drowsy faces, staring at my beautiful features, to you there showing me your teeth like I’m a dentist, smiling away at me. Now let’s just cut to the chase, you like… I-I me-I mean love books and love reading, right guys? Well what are you waiting for, let your brains release the flamboyant, colorful, courageous imagination of books that I’m about to tell you about now!
Books glorious books, they make you feel clever! While we’re in the mood, we read The Hobbit together ske-oh wait sorry, I got carried away; let’s go back to the normal world. Remember, reading exercises your brain (my mum said that), it also helps you to write more brilliantly (Nursery that went directly to you). Hungry? Well stuff these fruitful phrases down your mouth like a pig – oink! Glue your eyes to the book page.

How’re you doing, bookworms (well you’re not really that)? I’m here to take you on the yellow brick road, on a journey, you’ll never forget. My name is Dorothy, the owner of…books, but the books I sell aren’t just ordinary Biff and Chip books (you’ll get it, when you are older) they’re magical, mysterious, imaginative, perfect, horrifying, nightmaring, teeth-chattering, hand-wringing books (sorry I got a bit carried away there).

Let’s talk about the different genres of books. Don’t forget, parents out there, don’t forget to give your children different varieties of books for example: some about fighting and action, some about the pinkest of the pinkest princesses (urgh), or you could give them a book about gardening. Please give your children a chance to succeed in life so that they can pay to look after you, when you are older. Any way I have to go to lunch with the prime minister and discuss book week. Bookworms UNITE!

Well hello, my little bookworms! I’m here to tell you all about books and why they are important to us. So do you want to come on a journey with me? Well what are you waiting for? Now if you’re not reading now, maybe you’re reading the wrong books, right? And remember to choose the right age appropriate books. Now I heard that this school are celebrating World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite book character and don’t forget – IT’S ON FRIDAY!

How’re you doing, champs? You’re here to listen to me (of course) tell you all about books – from ladydayda princess books to your nail biting, monstrous nightmarish books, which one do you like most? Please tell me that you like reading? You must! Sit back, chillax, and let me tell you why you must read!
Consider yourself, a book, I know it will make you feel very smart. When (if) you read books, you must remember that it will probably predict on your future salary in life (not sure that some of you will understand…). Tired? Read some fairy tale books and you will be sound asleep like ‘Sleeping Beauty’ – then wake up and follow the yellow brick road to your future. Choose the appropriate book for your age. How old are you, 1, 2 skip and few 99, 100. If you are 3-4 read books with only one word, I know a good one named: ‘LOOK’. If you are 5-6, try and read long picture books, I think and I know a very famous one named the ‘Gruffalo’. 7-8 read long enough chapter books such as the ‘Iron Man’. 9-10-11 read amazing books with complicated language and ask yourself challenging questions about the text.
Do you like scary, fantasy, SCI-FI, comedy and historic-fiction, wait can’t forget about non-fiction (I could go on for years). Scary. My favorite is scary! Or laugh out loud for comedy -I’m not sure, what do you like?

Greetings and salutations, fellow book lords. It is I, King Bookethon, to give you a message on those wonderful texts of William (Shakespeare), Michael (Morpurgo) and Roald (Dahl). My wide-armed love of books shall be outstretched into your hearts. I hope my love of Northern Lights, The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings will make you love books too.
I would give anything for the youthful people in my presence to love the J.R.R Tolkien-esque texts that I read every day. By the end of this to-be cherished speech, I hope I would have influenced you to make sure that you will spread the word of books to the next generation of humans so that this enjoyment will be never-ending! The fuel that keeps our love of books alive will be endless this way and we will continue to love books.
Our aim is to travel around the world, reaching out to others with our love for books, trying to get every single person (all 7,432,663,275 people, and counting) to read books for the whole weekend. With the belief that we all have this aim will come true – and the next thing you know, we will all win Nobel Peace Prizes. Think about what we can do the world. Because of all the privileges we have, and the words of wisdom that we receive what we can – and will do – we can make a big difference in the universe.
So, all the people watching this, if I were you, I would stop watching TV and start reading books.

Greetings, fellow book enthusiasts. I am the deity of Library City, and I am here to talk about… books! Are you not excited? If you are devoted to books, then Michael Morpurgo is proud. If I were book day royalty (which I am) I would make the world addicted to books and imagination would take the world by storm, which it will, this book week!

The privileges of having a book are unspeakable. The whole world should own a book. It is a great way to improve your work and learning. It is a privilege to be the deity of books, it makes me feel like I am helping others excel in their writing and reading. Reading has changed our lives forever. I have a dream to fill the world with peace and more importantly lots and lots of books.

Greetings my dear bookworms of Bookville. I hope you are enjoying this fine sunny morning. It would be an utter privilege to share with you the reason why books are such lovely, honorable little creatures and why they are so captivating. Anyone or anything that does not read therefore does not have an imagination. It is great for us to feed off these little superheroes. Let us raise our reading glasses as we let our imagination flow into the wonder and wisdom of books.

Greetings my fellow bookworms. This is the day we have all waited for, for time out of mind. I (the recently elected prime minister of the book empire) would be honoured for you to join 2016’s esteemed book week. It is an utter privilege to share with you – joyous comrades – the reason why books are so captivating; picture a world with no imagination…no books. Why let your imagination run wild and let it feed off these wonderful texts? Fear not, I will explain later, so keep listening. We shall all raise all raise our reading glasses and eat the word of wisdom upon the wise pages. And at the end you will all get a nugget of wisdom, your life-blood, and a chance to be tip-top author. William Shakespeare, Roald Dahl, J.R.R Tolkien, Philip Pullman will be proud if you read lots of books and let your imagination run wild. If I were you, I would read brilliant books while the sun sails and the moon walks, like I did when I was your age.

Hola amigo! I am here to motivate you to devour more books, and I will succeed. I will tell you all, yes ALL, about books– from your nightmarish dreams to the pink and purple world of La La Land (yuck)! You all like reading, do you not? Am I correct? You, do, surely, who doesn’t?
Well your eyes do collect words and eat them to feed your imagination; ooh imagination is like a seed, just been planted and reading books will water the seed and bring the sun out to make the seed grow to a tree of an outstanding altitude. To like a book, you need to like the genre and if it meets your grade (for example, I would not read a book from pre-school), but I would, and am, reading books like The Hobbit or Michael Strogoph.

How’re you doing, bookmates? I’m here to tell you about the wonderful world of books – from the most scary tunnels (nursery from previous experience – do not read it) to pretty princesses (girls hey)! Surely everyone loves books, right? They turn your frowns upside down, what more could you want? Let me tell you why to read.

Books oh books, arguably better than cake. Books are everything, if you’re hungry, you can taste the fruitful phrases, there are enough to feed 5,000 in a good book. My favourite fruitful phrase is: “…..without this child we shall all die,” (Phillip Pullman). You go on fizzpopping adventures; sounds like a trip to paradise. If you don’t like books maybe you are appreciating them in the wrong way?

Here are some suggestions of books for you to read: YR6, The Hobbit, this is a book that lacks nothing. You never know what will happen. YR5 read Skellig, this is a book that people will judge by the front cover, but don’t! If you do you are making the biggest mistake of your life. YR4 read the Boy in the Dress, it has a wonderful storyline. This is a book I read in a night – despite being 200 pages long. YR3 read Not Bad for a Bad, Bad Lad, this is an autobiography by Michael Morpurgo, he’s such a great man now, but do you think he was good or bad as a young child? KS1 I am sorry to let you down but I am not up to date with books for little ones, except the obvious: The Three Little Pigs, Cinderella and Jack and the Beanstalk.

Go and serve the words of the books!

Just imagine a world without books…if you do not read you do not have any imagination – no imagination at all. I, the queen of Bookland, assure you that this land will never run out of book, I have 100,000 books being manufactured everyday … I think.

Greeting my devoted bookworms. As the (recently elected) prime minister of Bookland, I would be a honour to introduce you all to the esteemed, joyous meeting of magnificent books. It would be a pleasure for me to share with you – contented guests – the reason why we are all so lucky to have all these captivating, eye–catching books. Just imagine a world without books…we would have nothing to do; these spectacular books bring joy and happiness into our lives – without them, life would be a complete misery. What can reading do for you, I hear you ask? Why would people ask such a thing? It strengthens our imaginations so our writing is just as good as these magnificent authors. We must raise our reading glasses and eat the words of wisdom off the page, as we share our recommendations.

Ow’re you doing, amigos? I’m here today to tell you all about books-from your most out of this world to the prettiest of pink princesses (disgusting). You guys like reading, right? Come on! You must do! So, let me tell you why on earth you have to read!
Books, glorious books. They make you feel very clever – for ever! Remember books help make your future for life (you’ll understand when your older). You’re feeling peckish? Well eat up these fruitful words (they come in many different flavours): take yourself on a journey of a lifetime. Warning! Remember, life will be extremely hard without books. If you still don’t like reading, you’re probably not choosing the correct books for your age, aren’t I right. I’ll have to leave it there for now, but Cathedral School keep reading!

Good morning my fellow citizens, I – the Queen – am here to tell you about the upcoming book week; where all of you book worms are able to read as many books as your sticky little fingers can grab!
Did you know that over 3 thousand years ago, the Ancient Egyptians made the first ever book out of reeds? They made little pictures with paint and a paint brush but now we use a laptop and a printer. The journey has been epic!
The books that I would recommend are the ones that let you access your imagination and bring them to life, because every child has the right to a captivating and fulfilling education – so bear with me a minute, and I shall bring a gift for each of you!

Good afternoon my dear fellows, do you know why books are good for you? Because they can improve your writing and help you learn new words that you have not learnt yet! I would like to show you my favourite book of all: The Northern Lights by Philip Pullman, a bestselling, award winning masterpiece by one of the best storytellers of all time. It is about a little girl called Lyra and her pet daemon pantalaimon who goes on an adventure, seeking her friend, Rodger, who has been captured.
We must celebrate book week by writing a fascinating piece of work, by writing an adventure for your favourite character. You can write anything you want, as long it is interesting. If I were the king of the world I would make everyone read the Northern Lights!

To all my fellow readers, I would like to say a sincere word of greeting and thanks. It is to you that I, Lord Bookworm, directly talk of the following:

As it is my duty to lead this empire (Cathedral School) and the Underlord Bookworms to the greatest university, I would tell you of all coming events relevant to us… and there is one particular, and very sentimental (to me) event coming up – Book Week! Reading is vital, you know that, and no books means no us! Imagine a world with no books; no imagination, yes, think about it. Creativity drives us – without it, we would not have invented the things we have today. Books are our life-blood – why should we not celebrate? And even now, we can feed off the words of wisdom concealed in the magical pages. Books propel us onto higher tiers of excellence!

So it is without further a-do that I pronounce this year (2016) the most sensational Book Week that ever made the history of Book Weeks.

    Homework over the Easter Holidays:

Today was the 6th of April, the day my family and I were going to leave South Africa, after our Easter holiday.  I was so sad, it had been so fun spending time with my cousins, grandparents, aunts and uncles and obviously their dogs (Duzi and Dollar).

It was a windy day, not exactly the weather you would expect from a supposedly hot country. It was 8:30am; we had to drive from Howick, Kwa-Zulu Natal (where my cousins live) to Durban, where we took a short 1-hour flight to Johannesburg. The day gradually became sunnier with a temperature of 22 degrees Celsius. After lunch, we arrived in Johannesburg, where we were going to see my Mum’s cousins, before flying into London in the evening. We met and played in the garden with our cousin’s baby Jack.

We arrived at the airport, with lots of time to spare, the airport was heaving. Once we got through the security, we went to a pasta restaurant, we all had spaghetti with tomato sauce. It was horrible, there was enough tomato sauce to last you 3 days. It was time to get onto our plane. We got onto the two-floored aeroplane, the engine was roaring outside.  The full 11 hours of the flight had passed, and we were on the Heathrow runway, looking into the mist. Our Dad picked us up and took us home.
