3D Computer Games

We created our own computer programs today, using new software which can be used at home and in school.

These 3D games had to be maze based and feature a suitable balance of difficulty and offer both reward and obstacles/enemies to avoid.

Scratch from scratch

We started using Scratch today with an online video tutorial (available from the Scratch resource page on the right.)

The task was to make a simple Cat and Mouse chase game with two sprites.

The software is full of possibilities for Summer 2! The software is free and available to download – the link is also on the Scratch resource page.

Excellence

Today in Year 6 we were reflecting on the olympic quality of excellence. We were creating a storyboard using the software ‘Comic Life’ and importing pictures from the class cameras. We are putting the finishing touches to our comic strips. The photos are of us taking photos. Japheth commented that this was ‘ironic’.

Fates of the World

We have started our video editing for our short films about climate change.

We have used the climate simulator ‘Fates of the World’ for research and images as well as Powerpoint and Paint for image editing. This was joined with film footage to produce our films in Movie Maker Live.

Fates of the World is a great piece of software which you can download for about £10. Our films will be published soon.
